Butter Lobster Curry (at Royal Indian) is the most singular meal of exotic decadence I can remember! With a butter curry base as warm and rich as the setting sun on the Bass Harbor, it’s the exciting, elevated way to try lobster that you are unlikely to taste again! (For days before our return to Bar Harbor I began anticipating another chance at this entree, and I was still amazed!) Lobster korma was very good as well. To friends visiting Bar Harbor: Don’t miss the chance to taste the exquisite flavors of India with the delicacy of coastal Maine! (Butter Lobster Curry)
We have done dinner and take away (to eat outdoors), both were great experiences with good service. There were no delays for Takeaway when we called ahead.

This place is a must-try. Although you may need to wait in the evening, as it gets busy in this small town, the roti, chicken tikka masala, and chole we had were lip-smacking. Overall, this place is perfect for to go Indian food.

For the location I would say the food was great!! With decent pricing.
Good service. Of course there’s a long wait during peak hours. But the staff are very friendly.

I came in for the fall season, visiting from Texas. I’ve heard great tales of the lobster in Maine and tried many places around the area. The Lobster Tandoor by far was the best on the island. The curry was amazing, the service was prompt and impressive. My second time at Royal Indian with friends and it was unforgettable will be coming back every time for the naan and Lobster Tandoor

The food was amazing. We came across this gem while looking to have dinne in Bar Harbor. It was one of the best Indian food we have had. We loved Lobster tandoori, it was one of the highlights of our trip. Momo was also super yummy. We loved the food so much, we went again for dinner for second night as well. Highly recommend, don't miss this place on your visit to beautiful Bar Harbor.

If you value good food over service then maybe it is not a bad choice , we waited for about an hour after ordering, all the other tables got food even they came after us, and then our waitress just disappeared not checking in on us one time during the whole dinner time. We asked for split checks, it took them 3 times to finally get our check right. This place is so disappointing and it’s the only place we had a bad experience during our stay in Acadia area.

Honestly. As an indian, the food was bad.
We got the chicken tikka, chicken biryani, and 2 curries.
Chicken tikka had no salt at all, just red spice oil and alot of food coloring.
Don’t expect traditional good biryani. It was not even pulao, lots of black pepper and again barely any salt. The raita was good.
Service was slow. It wasnt busy.
The quantities are good and large but if you cook good indian food, you will be extremely disappointed and dissatisfied.
If you don’t know what indian food tastes like, do not use this places food as your first.

The food here is super duper good; best Indian food we’ve had in the States. They are really creative with their dishes. I highly recommend the butter lobster: it’s like butter chicken but with that umami, flavorful lobster twist instead; a much better alternative. Their Lassi is also very good: more fruity mango flavor instead of the usual sugary overflow. We were recommended by a local to come here. Honestly, we didn’t have high expectations at first. But after eating here once, we were here again the next day dreaming about how good their food is. 100/10 super recommended!

During our stay in Bar Harbor we came across this establishment. We were ready to give our palates a change from lobster and fish. The food here did not disappoint. We enjoyed every tasty morsel.
