This place offers the most vegan options out of any place we could find in Bar Harbor ME. And I was so happy we could eat something other than greasy fries and vegan burgers that make my stomach sick. We got the Chana masala, dal takda, roti and samosas which were confirmed vegan. Staff was friendly and helpful! The only enjoyable meal I had out in bar harbor!

Great place for tasty Indian food and nice folks!! I got the vegetable biryani and it was delightfully flavorful and the leftovers were just as good the next day for lunch too! Butter chicken was delicious and the garlic naan was the perfect vessel for it all. I’m from the island and rarely go out to eat anymore but Royal Indian provides a perfect spot to get some delicious fare beyond just steamed seafood (although they have uniquely prepared Indian inspired seafood as well!!!!).

Very knowledgeable staff regarding vegan options. Excellent Dal Soup. Good Samosas but not the best. Had to try the Jackfruit Curry which was very good. Have never seen it before in any Indian restaurant.

We’re visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia and were looking for something different from our usual dinner choices. We’re so glad we chose to eat at Royal Indian. Our Chicken Tikka Masala, Vegetable Korma, and butter naan were absolutely perfect. We enjoyed our delicious meal on the patio. The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent.

We tried Royal Indian for the first time one month ago. We had the butter chicken, butter lobster, naan, and lamb korma. It was our first time eating Indian food from a restaurant and we were very pleased with our meals! The entrees were very filling and some of the best food we’ve eaten in bar harbor. The staff were all super friendly and quick. We’re now using this as our go to takeout order spot!

We stumbled upon this restaurant unexpectedly and were absolutely amazed by the quality of both the food and service. The lobster tandoori and chicken tikka masala were very good . The chicken tikka masala, in particular, was a refreshing take—spicy and flavorful rather than the typical creamy, sweet version you often find. The staff was very welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable.
