Ah, the Gemini Cafe in Bethel, Maine – it's a cozy spot that's become a bit of a local staple. Walking in, you're greeted by an atmosphere that's casual and comfortable, with a decor that blends rustic charm with a few modern touches. It's pretty much what you'd hope for in a small-town cafe. The coffee? Solid. They've got a decent selection that'll satisfy most coffee lovers, from your straightforward black coffee to more elaborate concoctions. And while the baristas might not be pulling off latte art that'll go viral on Instagram, they're friendly and get your order right, which is what really matters at the end of the day.Food-wise, the pastries are a highlight. Not exactly groundbreaking, but reliably good – think classic cinnamon rolls and muffins that hit the spot, especially on those brisk Maine mornings. The menu isn't vast, but it's got enough variety to keep you coming back to try something new or stick with your usual. What makes Gemini Cafe really stand out, though, isn't just the food or drink, but the sense of community. It's the kind of place where you'll run into neighbors and catch up on local happenings. The vibe is laid-back, making it a nice little retreat whether you're looking to kickstart your morning or unwind in the afternoon. So, if you're in Bethel and in need of a coffee fix or just a place to chill for a bit, Gemini Cafe is worth checking out. It might not be the fanciest place around, but it's got heart, and sometimes, that's just what you need.

Absolutely delicious! We heard about Gemini from the place we went to dinner called Mountain Social. Our bruschetta was so good, so we asked about the bread. The 2 days we were in Bethel we went to Gemini for breakfast. Amazing cinnamon buns, almond croissants, and hot chocolate. A definite place to visit if up by Sunday River.

We were on a family ski trip last week to Sunday River. Rented a house in Bethel. I saw this bakery on youtube while doing research and it didnt disappoint. We had sandwiches one day for lunch and they were fantastic. Went back on Saturday afternoon to get fresh bread and deserts for our pasta night at the house. Everyone in the house LOVED it! Highly recommend this place.

Everyone is right, this place does almost everything well. I only wished the plain croissants were a little more well done. The plain ones were slightly undercooked the few days we were in town, but the almond ones were heavenly. I'd nock off a 1/4 of a star fit that. But the chocolate tahini bar is a must.
The food here was great! I and a family member got egg sandwiches. The sourdough was some of the best bread I've ever had. Super puffy and wispy, while still holding together in a sandwich. 10/10 sandwich. Seriously amazing. The other sandwich we got was an egg sandwich with gluten free bread. Unfortunately, the gluten free bread was quite dense and a bit undertoasted. But the stuff inside the sandwich was still pretty good. My family member ended up eating their gluten free sandwich with just one slice of that dense bread, instead of eating both. The building has a public restroom, very clean. The atmosphere was nice. A bunch of seating, and there were a lot of people inside eating and ordering. The eating area isn't a very large room, all the tables are pretty close to each other. There were many options for food. Lots of different breads, danishes, and pastries, and some gluten free options too. And they had Maine Root soda products, which are always great.Food came out quickly, and the staff were nice to talk with.Dietary restrictions: They had some gluten free options. Unfortunately, the gluten free bread was quite dense and a bit undertoasted. But the stuff inside the sandwich was still pretty good. My family member ended up eating their gluten free sandwich with just one slice of that dense bread, instead of eating both.Parking: Not a lot of parking at the place itself (less than 12 spots, including staff parking), but there's some street parking right next to it.Kid-friendliness: There were multiple families with young kids eating here when we went. It seems pretty good for kids. Looks to be some simpler food items on the menu, for kids.

Ordered a flat white and just got very milky coffee and when I tried to ask the barista she was super dismissive. Should’ve got the cheaper self service instead. Baked goods looked good though.
