First time at the tavern... The service was excellent, the vibe was fun, and the food was great . The only negative I saw was that their drinks were very expensive for the small amount you got. Otherwise, everything was great, and you would certainly enjoy yourself here.

I had checked the website for the Tavern online to confirm they were open and clicked on the reservations tab which directed me to open table to make reservations. I made reservations for dinner via open table for 7 pm; however when we arrived the tavern had a paper sign on its door noting they were closed. Need to update the website and also need to update open table to make sure others don't run into this issue. Thanks

Sienna was a great server! She was friendly and checked regularly to make sure we were enjoying our meal and had everything we needed. The food was delicious! To start we had the chicken wings with sweet chili sauce. The bowl of clam chowder was so comforting. I had the salmon entree and my husband had fish and chips. Both were cooked perfectly. Thank you for a nice NYE dinner!

Great experience. We would go back. Excellent service and ambience and the menu had lots of good options.

We are staying at the Bethel Inn. We waited 40 minutes for our dinner order for 5. It was busy, to their credit. The following morning we waited at least 45 minutes for our meal, and there was only one other table occupied in the tavern. It's hard to say where the hold-up is, but this will bring you down in no time if you don't improve

We came for the Thanksgiving buffet as we have for many years and were SO disappointed. The staff working were all very nice and helpful, but it was obvious that the whole operation was very understaffed. Our server Sierra was very nice and helpful. But what was most disappointing was the lack of variety on the buffet. We have been here for many Thanksgiving Buffets and this one was so stripped down of past offerings it was sad. NO steamship round of beef carving station. NO pecan pie. NO smoked scallops. NO creamed spinach. It was as if new Bethel Inn owners Giri Hotel Management group decided to see how profitable they could make it for one year at $59 a head--- and to hell with people who decided they’d never come back again. Sad, and we won’t be back.

The wait staff attentive. Accommodating to change up a meal for a dislike of vegetable offered with meal for 1 in our party. Ambience by fireplace delightful. Would definitely go back.

Atmosphere was great and staff was extremely helpful. We ended up not eating here ONLY because we stopped in at 3pm and the dinner service does not start until 5pm. They only had apps and drinks at that time. We will try again on another visit to Bethel after 5pm and repost our food review.

Call the hotel first! It was closed. No sign. Website said open. We and 2 other parties showed up to watch the Patriots. The kind cashier in the gift shop that was opened couldn't say why. We asked her to pass on that the website needed updating.

Great service but the food is awful. Came out tasting so charred and every side was super bland. The pretzel app was good but that was it

Awful service we were seated and waited nearly 25 minutes before being greeted by our server, 10 minutes later we received our beverage order which consisted of 2 bottled beers and 2 waters. Two of us ordered the braised short ribs and we were told that did not have any that evening. Orders were placed and did not see our server for another 30 min when she brought out the food. One of us got a cheeseburger which was ordered medium well and I ordered steak tips medium rare which was served with mashed potato and broccoli. The tips were overcooked and the potato's and broccoli were stone cold. When the server came back to the table I told here the problems with the plate and she replied with an attitude, " I tell the cook". In order to be able to eat the burger the burnt crust of the severely over cooked meat had to be removed. The server came back after another 15 min and asked how was everything was and I replied it was terrible! Again with an attitude she " well you ate it". However never ate the cold potato's and broccoli. We asked to talk to the chef she said he was too busy. When she presented the bill we requested a manager, she came back and said he was not available however she was authorized to remove one meal from the bill. I was total disgusted with her attitude and the meal. She said I hope the bad meals would not be reflection on the service, to which I replied the service was worst then the meal! First time I ever left a zero tip! Needless to say I would not ever return and highly recommend you find a different place in Bethel to eat.

Only one server on a very busy Sunday. She took other folks’ orders prior to ours. We were there before other parties. Very rude…when asked for salt and pepper she snapped I’m on my way!!! 😡 she’s definitely in the wrong profession. Will not go back.
