Very bed food don’t going that restaurant
We are huge fans of Indian food. We’ve tried scores of Indian restaurants across the USA and in Europe. We never leave bad reviews but this one needs to be shared. There was nobody else in the restaurant at 12:45 on a Saturday. Red flag right there. The waitress was not rude - but cold as stone, very slow, and very inattentive. We ordered Chili chicken which was listed as hot and spicy. Then we chose the hottest spice level on top of that. When we finally got the meal, the dish was - well - horrible. The chicken was in huge chunks and was very tough and chewy. Almost like it was underdone or something. The sauce had zero heat - maybe a 1 out of ten. It was just very bland tomato sauce with a strange sweetness to it. Not good. The naan and soup were fine. The rice was okay. We certainly will NEVER go back to this restaurant.
Blown away. This was my first time trying Indian food, I got the chicken tikka masala and my boyfriend got the butter chicken. Both were absolutely delicious. Little pricy, but we will be back for sure!
Phenomenal. Best Indian food I’ve had
Food is awesome. Best Indian food we have found in Maine so far.. awesome flavor and spices. If you like it hot, they have a very hot option on many dishes that will surely meet the demand. Excellent, thnx.
The best. Love this place!
Absolutely delicious vegan and vegetarian options, wonderful staff! Can’t wait to go back.
Vegetarian options: Veg pakora, garlic naan, dal makhni, and Bombay masala were all wonderful

Delicious vegan dishes, very flavorful & savory. Beautifully presented garlic Naan. Lovely service from the owner. Go here for the food, not the atmosphere,
although it's mellow and fine. We're from Portland and we'll definitely make our way back here specifically for the vegan food. It's worth traveling for.

Jewel indeed. If you know you know. This place has it all, the vibe, the decor, the crazy good Indian food. If you’re reading this, it’s worth the trip.

I don’t know how folks can give this place a bad review. I have been here about 50 times back many years, both in Portland and Biddeford. I have had Indian food in several restaurants around the country, but primarily in Boston. My wife has hit similar restaurants all over the world. We both love this place. The Chicken Korma and Lamb Rogan Josh, and the garlic naan are our highly recommended items. So, so delicious. A very nice family sharing their amazing food in Southern Maine. Everyone I have taken here has raved about it, including my relatives from downtown Boston… and the prices are reasonable too.
Just a local guy with a refined pallet sharing facts.
This is hands down the worst Indian "Food" experience I have ever had.
I can't comment on the atmosphere, since i didn't go in we did take out.
I can't comment on the service either for the same reason.
What I can comment on is the "Indian Food". I ordered a lamb dish, and my wife ordered a veggie dish. Both were disgustingly salty, so salty that you could barely taste anything, the salt literally burnt your tongue. My lamb dish that was supposed to be "Selected very lean lamb cubes sauteed in ginger onion and day nuts cooked in low-fat homemade yogurt sauce." turned out to be chicken and overcooked chicken at that and tasted like canned cream of chicken soup that had been left on the counter for a week. No Ginger, and no nuts.
The Khumb Mutter veggie dish which had "Fresh baby mushrooms and green peas cooked in golden brown onions and special Indian spices." Had one mushroom slice and no green peas.
Maybe it was a one of, since there were so many good reviews, but I suggest if you get take out from here, you check the food before you leave. Into the compost bin it goes.

Grit in the spinach. Awful awful supposedly chicken tandoori. Don't know what strange creation it was. And meat seemed stale.
Sad to write this review.

Just happened upon this place when we were trying to go somewhere else that happened to be closed. Pleasantly surprised to have the best Indian food I've ever had! Thank you so much for an amazing lunch ☺️☺️
