We saw that the restaurant was new and had good reviews, but I would recommend against the anchor restaurant at the moment. We went and the serving staff seemed very new and unsure of what to do. That in itself isn’t a reason to leave a review but we ordered the pizza and it was very undercooked and now we don’t feel great. I hope they have success here but it just changed ownership and we felt the reviews and pictures of the food was misleading based on the reality of the restaurant.

Came here around 4 pm this evening. We weren't sure if they were open, but they were. The gentleman inside was very polite and served us right away. He mentioned they had a fire some time ago, and they only opened about 3 weeks ago. So they may look closed/dead inside, but they are open! My husband and I definitely recommend this place. We had the beef nachos as a starter and they were definitely the best ones that we've ever had! All of the food was amazing. You should definitely try them out if you're in the area!

Though we arrived close to closing time, our server Casey welcomed us cheerfully.
There were so many menu options, and they were surprisingly varied. At our server’s recommendation, I had the Jamaican chicken curry, and my wife had a fried haddock sandwich. The curry was delicious (not necessarily what one expects in Maine!), and my wife really enjoyed her haddock. Our accompanying side salads were extremely fresh. (Clearly didn’t come pre-made out of a bag, like some places.)
We didn’t sample anything from the bar, but it looked well-stocked.
We felt the prices at the Anchor were reasonable, and the server and manager were both helpful and sincerely friendly.
This is a casual restaurant and bar (so hard to give 5 stars for atmosphere), but it was very welcoming, and perfect for couples or families.
We look forward to returning.

Easily the best fish tacos I've had in a while! They also had fish chowder, and it was delicious. My daughter is not a seafood fan and ordered the burger. She said it was really good, well done but still juicy. Our waiter was great! I would highly recommend this little

We had dinner at the Anchor Restaurant for the second time over the past two weeks. Both times the food was delicious, the service was attentive, and the over-all atmosphere was pleasant. We will most definitely be back again!

Parking: This restaurant is part of the Inn. Parking in front and on side of restaurant.
