As an experience, Cabbage Island was amazing.
Definitely come starving! They give you two lobsters, potato, corn on the cob, clam chowder and this amazing blueberry cake desert. The food was pretty good! What added it to me was that the island had small strains, good enough for some activity in between the food and some beautiful views of the sea.
in 2023 is our first time to try the best Lobster with the best price which around $68 everything went excellent; Lobster Clams so fresh Onion Corn so sweet Potato so yum Fish chowder and Blueberry cake especially View at the island is unforgettable and also great service all this make us wanna come back if we have a chance cuz we have to take 3 hrs flight plus 3 hrs drive to be at Boothbay Harbor and now in Aug, 2025 we have made it, even the price is raised ($97.5 ) but we believe it’ll be the best experience as usual. UNFORTUNATELY it been upset since the beginning cuz we get yelled about we skip the line which we have not meant for that we actually be at pier 6 since 2.50pm pick up ticket at cashiers which she said the boat will start boarding at 4.30pm (that’s it all she hav said) then we gone for coffee and come back around 3.35pm which is kinda empty in around the area so we just sit and wait near the gate we thought line will begin here which we misunderstood, we may forgot since 2 years ago from last time, we wait until 4.30pm and still not boarding.
We see more lot of ppl at this time until 4.40pm we saw ppl who was from the earlier trip came back from the boat and that make us knew we will be called for boarding soon. I kept looking at the gate and saw some of guest who been wait since 3.35pm with us get boarding around 4.40 pm and 1 min after that we follow them to boarding (il thought boarding is start) but suddenly we get stop by staff they dont let us board and blame us that we make it unfair for all guests who been waiting on the line and bla bla bla bla, He dont even listen any words from us and only yelled at us to go to the end of the line it kinda rude, I also feel bad for staff who take us ticket and let us go but since we get stop from the other staff that guys also get yelled at, actually WE DONT MIND TO WAIT & BE A LAST PERSON IN LINE which we already came so early since no other ppl, and everyone go to same boat and leaving same time !!!!! but we just dont know where is the line, we thought line start at the gate, so i even though we are the head of the line. None of the staff say anything during we been waiting since 3.35pm neither since pock up the ticket, no announcement about when the boat from earlier trip will arr/when and where is boarding will begin, im not a kids who mess up the rules but i old(40) enough to RESPECT the rules and other ppl.. BTW lobsters, clam is fresh corn, onion is good but potato, fish chowder and cake is not reach the good performance as last time, Views is still the same good.
This is one of the best things I've ever done these people are awesome and truly care about your experience and the food was excellent what a great job
What a great experience! Food was fabulous and the games were great! Would highly recommend bringing your family here. Food is delicious!
The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. Such a courteous group of people that operate this Clambake. Didn't have to worry about getting enough to eat and the crew was right on top of things. A very friendly and aiming to please group of people also weather was perfect. Thank you for your hospitality.
Delicious and so much fun! I’ve been wanting to do this for years and was so afraid it would be disappointing but it exceeded all expectations! The boat ride was beautiful and such a lovely way to spend the evening. The food was wonderful. Highly recommend.
This is a unique experience and a large group tour. You board a double decker boat that holds around 180 people if the tour is full. You have either row seating or standing on bow or stern of boat. There is a bar on the boat. You have about a 45 minute boat ride to the Island (longer route to the island for a little sightseeing of other islands and a lighthouse). It was about 20 minutes on the trip back.
Once on the Island, you find a table to sit and you can order drinks and they serve you your fish soup, which was delicious. When the bell rings it’s time to line up and head closer to shore to pick up your tray of Lobsters, Clams, corn and potatoes. They served you 2 hard shelled Lobsters and several Clams. Lots of food. You definitely don’t leave the Island hungry. Dessert of Blueberry Cake was delicious. Depending on how fast you eat you may have time to walk around the Island a little before it is time to load back up for the trip back to Boothbay Harbor. Food was wonderful. We stood on the bow of the boat and really enjoyed the ride out and back.
Great place for a family vacation day
What an Awsome experience the food is soooooo gooodddd the people are soooo great. Everyone should go... the price is excellent. Worth every dime. That's for sure.
An experience like no other! The boat ride to the island is informative and lovely. When you arrive you pick the table you'd like to sit at on the Island and the lobster meal is large and delicious! It's not just a restaurant on an island it's a whole Maine coastal experience! Fun for all ages.

We had a great time there everything from the staff the boat ride and especially the food. They did not disappoint a very friendly family. My wife and I had a great time we would go again.
Absolutely lovely tour! I enjoyed every minute!! The food was delicious, the drinks were great and the cost was extremely reasonable for what you get!
July 4th we boarded the Bennie Alice and learned all kinds of cool stuff from Captain Gusto on the way to Cabbage Island, a beautiful little island near Boothbay Harbor. They've been doing their huge seafood bakes for 60 years, which makes sense--- the team moves like a well oiled machine, something that comes from years of perfecting your craft. We got to explore a little bit while the team prepared their famous clam bake, which includes: clam chowder, TWO big old lobsters, steamed clams, corn on the cob, a baked potato, a hard boiled egg, and a thick slice of Blueberry Cake. They also have a chicken option if lobster isn't your thing, and a hot dog option for kids. You're also allowed to bring your own food! Dani and I packed a vegan picnic (though I absolutely did eat some of this food. You expect me to ever stay away from blueberry pastries?????)
Invited by friends who had enjoyed it previously, and did not disappoint. Left promptly, friendly crew. Quite a bit more people than I imagined on the trip, but it never felt crowded. Drinks available on a 45 min tour of the beautiful harbor, with commentary and history. Arrived at Cabbage island, felt like a hidden summer camp with amenities. Food was great for what it was. The experience and trip made it all worthwhile.
As far as food goes, Blueberry cake was in fact legendary. Fish chowder was fish stew. Lobsters and other accoutrements were amazing.
Even in inclement weather, it was an awesome experience, I look forward to sharing it with family and friends.
So much fun. Going to do this yearly. It’s a great day out and a nice boat ride. They give you plenty of food. Not to miss! Can’t wait to go back!
