Had a great lunch! Drinks were tasty and even though it was busy we got great service!

We were in for the weekend and decided to give Mc seagulls a try as it looked cute and inviting. Should’ve turned around the minute we walked in the door, made a reservation online asked to sit outside. We’re placed in the lounge and received an argument that that’s what our reservation said When we specifically did not ask for that .Drinks took over 20 minutes to get and came back with an excuse of a large party that was outside.,Maybe you should check your staffing levels to accommodate your flow of business. We ordered soup and lobster rolls. Let me tell you we had better lobster rolls in our hometown of Buffalo New York quite disappointing For the quality of lobster roll provided with a hefty price tag .To top off the night after we were done eating, the bill was shoved at us immediately and while we were catching up with old friends, we were very rudely told that we had to evacuate our table because of reservation that requested our very specific table was there and waiting in 25 years of restaurant service I would never put somebody out without offering a dessert or a cocktail at the bar on the house for the inconvenience funny thing is when we walked out there was no one at their door in the lobby was empty. Seems after reading some past reviews. This restaurant never received the attitude adjustment or management change that they need to truly succeed. Choose wisely on your dining experience. This is not the place to go.

McSeagull’s is our go-to when we are in Boothbay Harbor – the staff cannot be beat, and the atmosphere and view are fabulous. Great lobster roll, and their chowders are delicious. Their fried haddock is my husband's favorite.

We’ve eaten here many times and it never disappoints! On this occasion there were 6 of us, including some grandkids. I want to give a huge shout out to our waitress, Ginger, aka our Angel! She was amazing. So kind and caring towards the kids, and really went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy. There are many restaurants that have great food, but its staff like Ginger that keep people coming back. ❤️

What a wonderful gem on the waterfront! Every aspect was 5 stars!! First and foremost, we were served by Ginger C. She has the most “can do” attitude of anyone I have ever met! We could not decide - hot buttered lobster roll or the chilled lobster salad roll! So one of each to split! The lobster was prepared perfectly, so much flavor! We enjoyed both so whatever your preference - go with it and you won’t regret your decision!

First stop on our Booth Bay Harbor extravaganza. Went with the fastball - clam chowder straight out of the gates. Run the football type of stuff. More than generous on the clams and love when they give you a quality brand of oyster crackers. Wife went with cold and I went with hot lobster rolls. I don’t want to come off as hyperbolic but the hot lobster roll may have been the best I’ve ever had. With all of that being said, felt like $10 beer price point is always a slap in the face but one you just have to take on the chin given its peak season here. Cool outdoor covered area, would’ve liked to have an option to sit uncovered if I’m in a tanning moment. Would recommend for sure to anybody visiting booth bay harbor 👍

Our 2 visits to Mcseagulls earned more than 5 stars! Food was fabulous!!!! Our server Amanda greeted us with enthusiasm and made us feel very welcome (1st time it was almost closing time.) We felt like she was a friend by the time we left. The next visit of course we requested our new friend. She recognized us immediately and again treated us like family! Ask for Amanda when you visit. She will make your dining experience just that much better! Thanks Amanda! Come visit us in Venice Fl!

Was in the area for the Botanical Gardens, our group made a reservation and was greeted promptly and was taken to our reserved table with a water view. The food was amazing, everything was cooked perfectly, best seafood we have had in a very long time! We met the owner who came to our table and asked how our dinner was and he recommended local events going on this weekend. Would highly recommend McSeaulls, we will definitely be back:)

The food was typical Maine tourist trap dining. Overpriced prefab frozen cuisine circled around local seafood. Salads were drenched in dressing to the point they were soggy and the content was unrecognizable. Ask for dressing on the side. The cheese on my hamburger was moldy. I didn’t see it, but the taste had gone through the entire slice. You know, when to molds on one corner, but sours the whole block. Thank goodness I like blue cheese.
The service was insulting at best. I was curtly asked where I was from after I asked about the clams. Where I’m from should have zero influence on a clam description. Then I asked if the fries were frozen or fresh cut. I was met with, “No, they are frozen. “ Then the next comment was “ If I didn’t tell you that, you’d never know the difference.”
The hell I wouldn’t, I have taste buds.

Her behavior was appalling. If her day was so horrible, she should have been able to go home instead of inflecting her attitude on customers.

I was with a group of coworkers and our client, so I was trapped. Had I been alone I would have left at that moment. And certainly sent back my hamburger and left at that point, if I had even gotten far enough to order. I also would have spoken with the manager. I was so embarrassed to take our client there.
Btw, you could tell the difference in the fries, a small child can. They were the prefab mush, coated fries that they quite literally have to put a coating on to make them palatable and stay together.
My parents had a restaurant in a tourist trap town for 20 years. They made pies from scratch, sauces, soups, bread, you name it…they used local meats and the potatoes they would bring in themselves from Idaho, the neighboring state, and their fries were fresh cut, skins on as were the hash browns. There were some people who would return to their restaurant daily their entire visit, for breakfast, lunch, dinner and/or dessert because they enjoyed their previous meal so much. They provided excellent food and service in spite of the location and the ease they could have had by cutting corners and providing subpar food and service. Therefore, I know first hand that things can be done differently than they are at McSeagull’s, the choice is theirs.
The tourist trap stereotype is alive and well at this restaurant. Feed them cheap, treat them like cattle, overcharge them and shove them out the door.
We are in town every month. We had a $200 bill for 4 people. We won’t be back. $200 x 12 = $2400 we will take to another restaurant.

BEST LOBSTER ROLL OF MY LIFE! On a Fall tour through NE we stopped here for dinner before settling in at the Hotel for the night. The bartender was very friendly and quite funny, actually. He took great care of us. The Lobster roll was the most magnificent roll of my life, I will probably never have another lobster roll again as nothing could top it. The biggest claws I’ve ever seen! Excellent food, great cocktails and superb service. The inside is attractive and clean. Go here!
