Vacationing in Boothbay, and at the top of our favorite restaurants is Ports of Italy, this place is not to be missed if you love Italian cuisine. Very popular with the locals and the tourists, be smart and make a reservation, especially over the weekend so you will not be disappointed. They are open 7 days a week 4:30-8:00. We had an early reservation and was taken to our table and immediately approached by our waiter, given water, he told us the specials and gave us time to look over the menu. We received a paper bag of warm, delicious rustic bread and olive oil dipping sauce, so good. After ordering, our food arrived in a timely fashion right from the kitchen. I ordered the veal ravioli in a mushroom cream sauce, let me tell you my choice was just delicious and very rich and filling. Husband ordered Osso Buco sitting on top of a rich broth and risotto, what a great presentation and my husband enjoyed it tremendously! Our waiter was very attentive to us and good at his job. The busboys were so nice and took good care of our needs. This place is a cut above the rest and they are popular and have a cult following!! Highly recommend coming here, a little pricey but so worth the experience. Bob and Debbie/ Mich

We recently reserved Ports of Italy for our rehearsal dinner for our party of 15 over the Labor Day weekend. The service, food and location were simply the best. The food was outstanding and the staff are professional, courteous, patient and accommodating. The atmosphere is fun and lively. I highly recommend Ports of Italy for dinner or a large group. You will not be disappointed.

Honestly the best lobster ravioli I've ever had, and specifically because of its simplicity. Super fresh all around

This Italian restaurant is a gem in Boothbay. We had the veal scampi, 4 cheese gnocchi and braised beef.
All the food was delicious and presented well. Drinks were made well and consistent. Service was attentive.
A must try restaurant in Boothbay.

We just left about 15 minutes ago and we cannot stop talking about this place! This is one of the best restaurants we have been to! The service and food is AMAZING. There are no words to describe it. The mussels appetizer will not disappoint!

For entree, we had the black ink spaghetti with seafood and the spaghetti and clams with red sauce (it originally comes with white wine garlic sauce). Both were fabulous! We will be back again next year on our vacation!

Back again for our 14th year having missed only the 2020 season (although we did do take away that year) and still so so good.

Love it! Ports is hands down the best Italian restaurant in New England. The food is authentic and fresh and the staff is perfectly attentive without being intrusive.

Being a top Italian restaurant, it was not as impressive as we expected. The waiting staff were very stiff and were especially cold when our table didn't order wine (even though I typically base my tip in what our bill would be had we ordered wine). The bone-in stuffed pork that I had was over-cooked, dry, and the fat was not trimmed off the meat. Breading was bland and not seasoned well either. The gnocchi dish was very small and my daughter was still hungry. The Ossobuco Con Risotto Milanese was the only dish that we were impressed by. For a small town restaurant, it was about what I would expect, but when it boasts to be one of the top restaurants, I was not impressed. We laughed afterward and figured if we had been drunk like the very loud group next to us, we probably would have liked it better. We won't be returning there again.
