Everything my wife and I had was perfect, including the desert . It couldn't have been better.

The restaurant is nice and has great views of the harbour. Food was great and staff were really friendly. Few good beers on tap and easy to get parked off you need to.
This has been our favorite restaurant for years. The dining room has a great view of the harbor and the wait staff is great. However the last two times we ate there was a bit troubling. I found two good sized bones in the grilled chicken breast on top of a salad. I never found bones in chicken breast ever. Also, one of their recent specials was steak. The meat was tough, chewy and worst yet loaded with nasty gristle, and honestly not edible. Who is buying their meat? What chef would look at it, cook it and serve it? Yes they made it right and the waitress was very good about it. but they need to be more careful and mindful of what they serve. They have a good reputation and if they want to keep it, they need to be much more attentive of what is going on.
Excellent food, we had the sweetest server and she was on top of everything. Beautiful drinking glasses to take home!

The tugboat restaurant had a great location, the dining room overlooking Boothbay Harbor. The outside is actually the look of a renovated tugboat in the inside is a typical dark wood seaside restaurant with lots of windows overlooking the bay. I had a grilled scallop dinner and the scallops were done to perfection And there must’ve been 15 to 20 in the bowl. My wife loved their lobster bisque and she was very happy with their Caesar salad. The prices were fair. The service was decent. The view was wonderful. This was definitely a great place for lunch and would definitely returnanytime. I visit Boothbay Harbor again.

The food was good. Wished the famous Tugboat meal actually was cooked in a Tugboat as it said on the menu but thats OK. Could have used a little garlic to put it over the top.

Worth the trip if you go to Boothbay Harbor, ESPECIALLY if they're having French onion soup that day. The lazy lobster was some of the best we have had and the drinks were great. The view over the water was a nice bonus.

Service was awesome, people were very friendly.
Food wasn't anything to write home about. Our options were limited since it was still early in the season.

Everyone at our table enjoyed the food and drinks. The seafood chowder and fried shrimp were excellent. Shrimp batter was lite and crispy while the shrimp itself was tender. Nice evening with friends and family.

Soups were good. Lobster mac and cheese tasted like it was from a box. Lobster roll not great either. Place was cozy, beautiful view.

We had dinner at the Tugboat 2 years ago and it was excellent. This year they have a new chef. It was good but not amazing like before. I was disappointed. I had a dish with stuffed shrimp haddock, and scallops. I also ordered mussels. The salad was excellent. French onion soup was also very good. The atmosphere was casual. I've had much better service.
Was it worth it? Probably not. I was disappointed and will not return.

My wife and I loved this place. We visited the Tug boat restaurant on our anniversary, 10/04/25 and it was great. The weather was unbelievable so we sat on the top deck and enjoyed the incredible view of the harbor.
My wife got The Davy Jones wrap and I got the Haddock BLT and both were delicious.
Great food
Great service
Cold beer and a killer view.
We highly recommend.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner around 5:30 on a Saturday night. We were seated fairly quickly, and ordered a few drinks that were made just right. She does not like seafood so ordered the fried chicken, and I order the 1 1/4 lb. lobster. Both meals were done just right The meals, service, atmosphere, and location were just perfect for a very nice night out for dinner. We will diffidently be going back.
Overall good seafood restaurant. You can get better prices for lobster but for a full service place prices not bad. Well stocked bar, prices pretty good. Service was excellent in spite of being very busy. I would go back.
