Although I only ate there once while briefly living in Bangor; the food and service were great and the view was spectacular. I happened to meet the owner out walker her dog while on one of my daily walks along the river. A simple hello sparked a conversation, she was so kind and funny. I had no idea she was the owner until we got to chatting and ended up doing the river walk together that day. She lifted my spirits and if I still lived in town I would be a regular not just for the good food and service but to support such a kind human and her family.

We've been here a number of times and we never complain! High tide is our go to for lobster food but we have always enjoyed the various soups. Shout out to my favorite dish- the Lobster Mac and Cheese (drool). It's always a hearty portion with a good amount of lobster in the tasty mac and cheese. My ultimate comfort food in the cold Maine winters when I want to splurge. It's worth it! Came once for brunch which was delicious but don't think they offer that anymore :(

Lobster? Yes!Crack and pick (hard) or preshelled (lazy style). Both are excellent. Lobster chowder is filled with large succulent chunks of Lobster . Other options for the non-seafood dinners include a very good schnitzel. Daily specials change daily! Limited but decent wine and beer list and reasonable prices make for a good choice for lunch or dinner!

Great tourist spot, very reasonably priced for the great location and atmosphere.Kid-friendliness: Kid's meal prices were very reasonable and had the classics, and they were not frozen food.

Nice view from the restaurant. We are here twice this week the lobster roll was very good as well as much of the other food. Plenty of space inside, no wait and a decent amount of wait staff.

It was good - the service, the food, the atmosphere.Nothing about my experience blew me away, but it didn't underwhelm me either.I'd confidently go there again.

I was extremely disappointed with the lobster that was served. The waitress made it sound like it would come to the table fresh from the steamer. Instead, I got chipped up lobster that was chewy like rubber drowned in too much butter. I was charged a very premium price for chipped lobster. Ruined my whole dining experience there. They should tell customers the lobster is chopped up like in a blender when they order. The other items were pretty good. The waitress was extremely good. I just moved to Maine a week ago and was hoping to find good restaurants to entertain family and friends. I highly doubt I'll be returning to this one.In response to the owner's response. I ordered the steamed lobster. That's what the waitress sold me. That's what I was charged for as well. For a $200 meal I expected to see a whole steamed lobster, wouldn't you?

This pains me so to write this review. High tide has been my go to for a relaxing evening, dinner, sipping a drink for 4 years on and off. Stopped by this Sunday for my birthday, went to the Pub area that my friends and I love (but honestly haven't been in 4 months). Was so disappointed. It was loud, to the point of rowdy with a big crowd throwing back shots at 3:30pm. My friend brought me a gift, with what appeared a champagne bottle from the top of the gift bag. HT 'management' left their shot glass at the bar and proceeded to heavily question my friend FOUR times what was in the bottle. By then I knew she was accurate in saying alcohol free as it was my favorite Pear freeze' . Despite answering no each time, the management was unrelenting and honestly unwelcoming. I offered to open my present early to demonstrate no alcohol, she said no, but again insisted "is there any alcohol in that bottle"? As opposed to normal welcoming HT, it felt entirely not. Fast forward to ordering food, waitress was repetitively slow. My French onion soup was cold except for cheese, Caesar salad had a taste of dirt and my friend's nachos came without jalapeños and olives, despite the waitress confirming she wanted this at order. The loud crowd continued to order their shots and yell at others across the bar. Couldn't enjoy time with friends. Not the high tide I remember. Far more rowdy and bar food lacking. I am sorry to post this, as has been my hometown go-to for music, spirits, ambiance and visiting when I am in town. I hope they address and improve. Summer is coming and they have a nice sunset view.

The restaurant was fairly empty when I went around 5 PM which probably wasn't a good sign. It's part of a large building that also houses a dentist so that was a little bit unusual although the ambience looked really nice. At this point, you seat yourself, and there was a lot of empty tables so I sat in the back. It took a while for a waitress to greet me, but she was friendly. I had the lobster roll, clam chowder, and bacon wrapped scallops. It seems like most of the patrons were elderly, but it could've been the time of day. The lobster roll had mushy bread and wasn't very well toasted. None of the food tasted very fresh, which is why it probably came out so quickly. There wasn't much lobster in the roll, and the lettuce accompany was a little bland. The coleslaw seemed a little water down. The sweet potato fries were good, but not great. Very crispy however! The clam chowder was good, but also seemed like it was previously canned. The bacon was very dry although the scallops were super hot, indicative of a microwave. They had poured a maple syrup across the bacon, wrapped scallops, which tasted cheap. I had high hopes for this place, but walked away, thinking I could find much better food, especially for close to $73!
