Terrible almost non existent service. Very dirty. Three stars for good food however it used to be great.
We went for a valentines 5 course dinner. The food was the service was chaotic. They skipped the first course and brought the second course. We had to remind them to bring the first course. The fourth course took forever, as if they forgot us. They take away the utensils and they don't bring new i ones. They added 22 % gratuity and another 3 % service fee. They did not deserve that. Quality of food is very good though
Love this experience on Valentine's Day, attended the Stanley Clark performance, the food was really good. My friend and I truly enjoyed our time there. Great seats for the performance we were in the front row, had a table for two.
Sushi was great. Sashimi pieces were huge.

I'm a local and love Yoshi's not just for the food but the music it offers. I usually am there for the food, which is always delish. Some friends came to visit from NM and we ate at Yoshi's last nite. Our waitress, Shar, was fairly prompt to greet us (after about 5 mins) and ask for our drink orders. Came back with them fairly quickly. We ordered apps and sushi. Duck confit rolls (exceptional)!came out 1st followed by sushi. But surprisingly oddly our chili lime and garlic soy edamame didn't make it out before that. The came the Caesar salad, then Kobe beef skewers. We asked abiut the edamame orders from the bus boys/ppl who brought the food out since Shar was nowhere to be found and it took about another 15 mins to get one order of the edamame. Still no garlic soy edamame. Shar was in the area tending to newly seated customers (literally 2 steps away from us) and never came to check on us. We asked a food server to find her for us and she never came. My husband wanted another tuna roll but, again, not Shar. My friends had to ask the food servers for forks/knives and returned with an attitude. When Shar finally returned we asked for the check and told her the garlic soy edamame never came, that we had to ask the food servers since she wasn't around and let her know that my husband had wanted another roll but since she never come to check in us he didn't want it now. She apologized and removed the garlic soy edamame from our check. But with such crummy service she should've offered to take off on our or sushi orders as well. If I hadn't been a long time customer and didn't know this Yoshi's wait staff is usually on point, I wouldn't want to come back. But fortunately, this wait staff service issue was an anomaly. But, I would recommend that Yoshi's management reiterate that the customer experience should be excellent, not marginal, so customers feel good about dropping $300. Very disappointed wit the service we receive with our out of town guests last night.
We had dinner before the show. The food was decent. A few of us had tempura shrimp, it lacked flavor and was rubbery. The chicken, cod, and ramen was okay as well. We brought 2 bottles of wine and corkage fee is high at $40 and bottle. We enjoyed going to Yoshi's for dinner and a show. We will do it again but wish we could order food from the show at the main restaurant as an option.
Food was mediocre - inconsistent. We order the same 3 rolls each time we dine: snow monkey, spicy geisha, japonese. Each were not executed with all of the ingredients as described on the menu, resulting in a different flavor - not what was described, nor what we have tasted and loved the numerous other times we have ordered these rolls. Drinks (state of zen) also underwhelming, no shiso leaf/essence in the drink, as described on the menu. Need to get back to better execution on food & drink.
Yoshi's is consistently a stellar experience. I know the good is going to be great and if I'm seeing a concert there will be a smooth transition to the concert. Thank you to the staff at Yoshi's for a fantastic evening!!!
We never go wrong with Yoshi's, but that said, the noise level can be problematic at times.
Had dinner here before a show. We ordered several appetizers and sides along with entrees. The issue is they brought everything at one time. They need to spend more thought on giving the diner time to finish a few items before bringing the next.

Amazing meal right before a show and they were able to give us priority seating which was great. Good food and service - hightly recommend.
Our waiter was Ken. He was very good. The only thing was I asked him if the tuna tartare was spicy and he said no. It is definitely spicy. So much so that I left half of it. Also my friend that was with me, asked for water several times with no one coming to fill her water. We finally caught up with Ken and we asked Ken for water and he said OK. But then we saw him again and he forgot to bring the water. So he got someone to bring water. I've been here several times and never had the experience that I had this time. Also, I believe the food for what you get is a little pricey.
We have been going to Yoshi's for years and keep coming back because we love everything about it. The one disappointment this time was the large price increase in the small act of shaking a cocktail. We were there December 20th and were not charged that price. Sixteen dollars for a Titos and three dollars for a shake. The food was perfect, the service excellent Raul, and Malkeen, and Nick. By the way, Pacific Mambo was extraordinary!
The food was excellent and so was the service, especially considering that it was New Year's Eve and the place was packed. Thank you!
My Wife and I, love Yoshi's. There's nothing in Reno, NV, that comes close to food, experience, and entertainment.
