Great food and friendly staff. Favorite Italian in the area. Fair prices for the quality.

Waitstaff is excellent! Shame they don't have a better chef because the food doesn't match the ambience. Creativity, quality and especially price with the food is an issue. Used to be excellent a few years ago.

Love this place! So beautifully decorated! Very rustic chic, especially loved the warm soft vintage lighting! Had the winter salad. Never even need heard of that & it was wonderfully prepared. Hubby had the pasta bolognese and he let me try it. It was to die for! Son had the chicken parm & it looked so yummy. The chicken was a gorgeous golden crispy color. Service was excellent! Very warm & friendly! Highly recommend!

We flew in from Florida yesterday and went to a family birthday dinner here. I want to say that the atmosphere is amazing. No rush at all. The rustic and authentic Italian vibes were amazing. The pace was perfect. Our server, Aiden (spelling), was superb and so patient. Sometimes it's a challenge to choose a locally brewed beer. The appetizer selection was exceptional as were the appetizers. I was too busy catching up with family to snap pics. Please forgive me though there truly is no need. Our entrees were fresh and on point. Nothing over powering and everything that exceeded expectations. This casual but super authentic atmosphere is something you do not want to miss!!! Exception is not saying enough. Enjoy!!!

This place never disappoints. The food is incredible every time we go. The best Italian food in the area. The service is always good with an experienced waitstaff that can recommend the perfect drink or dish.

Love it here but our table placement tonight was very awkward and made it uncomfortable. For some reason it was positioned oddly on the floor (the only little table sticking out into open space like a sore thumb). Definitely felt awkward and hard to enjoy the moment.

The food was very expensive and frankly not worth it. I ordered homemade gnocchi which was tasteless and not at all pasta like . The service was great but will not be back ever too bad when it was Vivo prior owners it was fabulous.

I went with three friends on a Friday evening. Our waiter was very pleasant and attentive. My friend and I both ordered a peartini, it was drinkable, but not nearly as tasty as others we have had, in particular at Krista's in Cornish. It did not seem as if it had any vodka in it, and the pear flavor was lacking. I ordered a No Baci pizza with guanciale, and blue cheese and peppers. The crust was delicious, the sauce was great, but there was almost NO blue cheese. There were a few chunks of guanciale, but it was disappointing. Two others ordered the special pork piccata, and they were both underwhelmed, lacked flavor and just not as expected. Overall, not sure I would go back, and I doubt the others will either. Ancora, you need to step up your game!

Had delicious veggie pizza and poached pear salad here, both were 10/10! My partner got the gnocci and it was not our favorite. Great atmosphere, super cozy and friendly and we were seated immediately at the bar (would recommend a reservation for dinner). Would go back!Vegetarian options: Plenty of options

This is the first time visiting Ancora Italian Kitchen after several memorable visits to Vivo. Save for the introduction of pizza - a welcome introduction - the menu appears to have changed little since the Vivo days. We ordered four appetizers and the fried calamari was the best of the bunch and quite tasty - well-fried and very flavorful. The meatballs were dense and a bit dry, the arancini lacked flavor and the grilled ricotta seemed to be extremely overcooked (and also dry as a result). We ordered three pizzas and they were okay but not great. The ambience is good - they eventually turned the lighting down casting a nice glow throughout the room. It would be great to turn the lights down right as it is getting dark (which is soon to be 4-5 pm). It was too bright when we first entered the dining room around 6:45. Service on the whole was okay but could use a boost. We had a pile of dirty plates and leftover pizza when dessert arrived and was plopped down in the middle of the chaos- we actually had to ask for the dinner plates to be removed in order to fully enjoy our dessert, coffee and after dinner drinks. Finally, the bathrooms really need some attention. They were very disheveled - bare walls with remnants of prior art visible, lots of paper on the floor (I recognize that patrons do this, but someone needs to keep an eye on the condition throughout the night) and a buildup of dirt that is unsavory in an eating establishment. On the whole, we were disappointed with this visit and it is difficult to imagine returning anytime in the near future. A little effort and some elbow grease would go a long way toward enhancing the end to end experience...

Fiancé and I were in town for the night and our friends recommended we check out Ancora. We loved it. Oysters to start were excellent, fiancé had gluten free pasta bolognese which can be hit or miss at most places but was perfect here, and I went with the the pizza funghi and had to hold myself back from finishing it. Service was solid and we loved the design of the restaurant. You get a lot for what you pay and were pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived. Would definitely come back.

Our meal was delicious! The portion sizes were very adequate! Our only complaint, if at all, was there was no bread served with our delicious Caesar salad. I would highly recommend the Pomegranate spritzer.
