The Harbor Room Restaurant

The atmosphere was great! Very clean. Though it was a relatively good size restaurant, it still felt cozy and quaint.I had the Crab Cakes and the soup of the day. Both were outstanding.The only complaint about this restaurant was we did have to wait a bit before our order was taken. The bartender, who was responsible for taking our order, was busy attending multiple tables, so we were not being ignored, just waiting for the bartender to return. She was very attentive. I would recommend this place for a visit, especially if your in the Damariscotta area.

Restaurant building is quite plain on the outside, but warm, and inviting on the inside. Food was delicious. The fish and lobster were lovely and fresh tasting... and quite flavorful. Waitstaff friendly and attentive. If you are visiting the nearby lighthouse... This is the place to stop for lunch or dinner.

I stopped by at 4:00 p.m. and they weren't busy at all. Ordered haddock fish and chips. EXCELLENT haddock and cole slaw - fries were good. Had a glass of wine - small glass.

High quality food and service ! Beautiful decor. Consistently good! Big outdoor deck and accept reservations..Go there often! Great seafood and daily specials ?.

We travelled all day for our stay in Maine. We were excited to find this restaurant. We ordered takeout. $66.00 for three items. First the chowder and it was not edible,it was swimming in butter. Not creamy,but butter. Then linguini with “four” baby shrimp. Finally a lobster roll that was not anything special. We waited four days to speak with the absentee manager Courtney. Finally we were able to tell the disappointment! Honestly,she was not very concerned and alleged our complaint was “fishy”. She rudely refunded us. Don’t be fooled by the cars in the lot that make the place look busy. Maybe they are there wanting a refund?

Found this lovely place on the way home from the beach .It has a friendly atmosphere and delicious dinning both indoors and out.We opted for the screened in porch which was very cozy . We started with fried green tomatoes which were very different and very good. My better half had a lovely seafood and pasta salad which was absolutely fabulous and I went with the crabcakes which were really really good. Our server Ella was friendly attentive and even when the wait was a bit long for our appetizer she was so apologetic. All in all the place was really nice and we will definitely come back.

I enjoyed a couple of good meals here-the food was excellent but be prepared for slow service. Try the scallop or shrimp scampi which I really enjoyed!

This was the first place we saw after the beach. It looked good enough from the outside and there was lots of cars in the lot. So, let's go. Inside it was comfortable and causal with lots of booths. Lots of great stuff on the menu too. It didn't take us long to see that they were incredibly short staffed especially with the amount of customers. They had a help wanted sign up too. It's interesting that on this trip, I think we've seen this at most places we visited. Instead of being mad at the slow service this meant for us we felt sorry the for the server that was there, she was really working hard. I mean really hustling with a purpose. When we got our food it was really good, everything was really fresh . We had the Lobster Club and the French Dip. Our server, Mia, finally got some help in and she got a bit of a break and we gave her an extra tip for all her hard work. Would come back here again.

We were there for a Tuesday at lunch sat out on the patio. There were people there but they weren't busy. Once we were seated and our orders taken we didn't see the waitress again until the food came out. Getting refills was impossible and when we asked for more napkins she said be right back and never came back. We eventually just went in and got some from the bar. Also had to go into the bar to get our check when we were ready to leave. The food was good and I understand everyone is short staffed by service could have been a bit better.

A victim of their popularity and lack of restaurants nearby.Waitress lost my partners order and never returned.Everyone was finished eating before we tracked down the server. Ordered soup and Clam chowder to get something quick. Not 1 clam in the chowder.No service.18% tip added to the bill.Stay away or at least you have been warned.

I really liked this place. Very clean, and excellent menu selections. Staff was energetic, and friendly. I was impressed with the pride they showed in their work. Portions are more than generous, with reasonable prices.

This place is the pits. A real rip off. Portions are miniscule and prices exhorbit. The calamari was the smallest and worst I've ever had.The crusted tuna was edible but very small portion for the price. Will not return.

Not a pleasant experience at all. Waitress told us lobster roll had a whole lobster... must have been a cull! We're Mainers and know our lobster. Haddock sandwich was dry.

I went to the Harbor Room Restaurant recently with family, it was a thoroughly mediocre dining experience. The water tasted like it had sat in a bucket of nickels. The crabcakes (28 bucks) should have been called bread cakes--except that would have been an insult to bread. I have seen formations of mold that have looked tastier than those crabcakes. The music was like a corkscrew into my forehead. I asked them to turn it off, which they did--for about seven minutes. Other food was good but still overpriced and the waitstaff were pleasant.

Have been to Harbor Room a few times before and food was decent for price including the balsamic salmon. Tonight ordered balsamic salmon again with mashed potato and mixed vegetables for $32 - there was barely 5 ounces of salmon, small amount of mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables consisted of a few pieces of zucchini and yellow squash with a larger amount of white onion. Only upside was very good service.
