I drove a long time just to get a coffee and sit and relax by the ocean, only to find you were closed at noon. Very disappointed. You should consider being open everyday until 2

Drove a long way to just try to relax by the ocean with a coffee. You were closed when I arrived at 12:30 much to my disappointment. May o suggest that you stay open until 2 everyday. A lot of people enjoy an afternoon pick me up and not only on weekends

We stayed at CH July 22 - July 27th, 2023. Restaurant staff lacked training. We dinned at Tiller and Terrace and each time the service was slow at best. We had to ask repeatedly for a waiter/waitress, food came out wrong, drinks came out wrong, missing silverware, and so on. Both indoor and outdoor furniture was not clean. Would not recommend wearing white. Windows, glass partitions and railing not clean Common areas were not straighten up at the end of the day. Overall, things did not seem buttoned up. Unfortunately, other guests we talked to all had similar experiences. Based on this, we would not recommend CH

We had family lunch recently with some family members travelling a long distance. Although the hotels location scenery and decor is amazing the service in the restaurant is so bad. Mix up with orders, mix up with drinks, mix up with bill. No communication between waiting staff and kitchen staff. Had a word with the Manager and nothing resolved!

This is the third time we've stayed at The Cliff House Resort and it never disappoints! They offer one of the most fabulous, peaceful and tranquil views along the northeastern coast. The facility it beautiful and everything you need is available on property. The staff is friendly, professional and most amenable at remedying any and all challenges that may occur. We'll be back for sure!

The best hotel we’ve ever stayed at and we have stayed in some excellent hotels all over Europe. First, it overlooks the scenic cliffs of the Bay of Maine. And our room - by luck - was on a corner so we had two wide window views of the water. The room was large, modern, and comfortable, the bed was comfy as well, the bathroom was big and the shower was great. Plenty of extras - pools, hot tubs, movie theatre, spas. We didn’t eat at their primary restaurant because of the reviews on Trip Advisor, but the hotel is only a few minutes away from Ogunquit which has many wonderful restaurants. The resort is simply beautiful. A 5-star hotel for sure.

The property and rooms are beautiful. As a young family, there are a bunch of issues that made the stay disappointing. Positive side, the view is amazing, the hotel is very pretty and the staff is great. I’m fine with the price point, the execution is lousy. My issues: 1. Breakfast is either a VERY slow sit down or a massively overwhelmed coffee shop. Both bad for young kids. There’s no buffet and that’s always something I look forward to on vacation. 2. The main pool is only for kids 13 and up. The family pool is very pretty but only has a single person bathroom which smells like a sewer and got filthy. Gross. If you have a family pool, you need the facilities for it. Also. There’s a ledge to jump into the pool. There’s a glass sheet separating it from the hot tub which isn’t supported. It’s going to crack and a kid could get very injured. 3. This was a first. The bottom sheets on our bed barely covered the mattress and pulled out every night; Weird. We ended up on a bare mattress every morning. Also gross. 4. It’s impossible to have dinner at the hotels sit down restaurant without a reservation made weeks in advance. After going to a lobster shack for lunch, it’s not very appealing as the only option for dinner.

We couldn’t have had a more lovely time on our first visit to the Cliff House. We followed the hotel on Instagram prior to our arrival and our actual visit looked exactly like the pictures and videos we viewed. It is hard to believe a place like this exists in Maine. I felt like it was a Caribbean type hotel. Every staff member we encountered was exceptionally nice. We had a oceanfront room in the Cliffscape building. I could not have been happier with our room. We were directly above the ocean and enjoyed our balcony multiple times a day. I must have taken pictures of the same scenery daily. The ocean and sky changed with the weather and it was truly breathtaking. I believe our room would have been perfect for the sunrise over the ocean but we did not wake that early. The room was well appointed with a table and chairs, balcony chairs and table, a nice bed, a refrigerator, stemless wineglasses and pretty glassware for water. There was an air purifier, good a/c and an additional armchair and little marble shelf area above the fridge for our snacks, sunglasses etc. I loved the steamer in the room and now want to purchase one. The bathroom had lots of goodies and three shower dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. We asked for some bar soap as well and they brought us a couple of small bars. This place wants to bring you anything you need or might be missing. We loved the ‘Maine Station’ which was right outside our room. I wondered if this may be noisy and while we heard a little noise, it didn’t disturb us much. A keurig coffee maker is set up with several different kinds of coffee and tea pods for use all day. This, along with three taps for bubbly water and regular water were available. The water wasn’t too cool but alas there was an ice maker here as well. Three different kinds of milk were in the fridge below the keurig as well as apples. All of this is refilled daily. I rarely saw it unstocked at all! There are coffee mugs and the nice glassware I mentioned in the room. I appreciated not drinking out of paper cups. This touch really added to my experience. (Paper cups which are provided at the station should you want to travel with your coffee.) We ate at the Tiller for brunch and dinner, the Terrace for lunch, Bald Head Coffee Co. and Nubbs. The Terrace and brunch at the Tiller were our favorite. We were accommodated for brunch even though we did not have a reservation. We made a dinner reservation well ahead of time. They do reserve some bar seating for those without a reservation. Gorgeous bar. We enjoyed Bald Head Coffee for breakfast a couple of mornings. They had a decent egg sandwich. I drank coffee from the Maine Station instead of purchasing there. Nubbs Lobster Shack was our one disappointment from the trip. We did provide a separate review on it. This place is so cute and offers an amazing menu but the food is really over cooked and poor quality. It is a shame. We tried it twice just in case we hit a bad night. Several items missing from the ingredients listed and the most overcooked scallops, clams, swordfish you’ve ever had. We wish management would acknowledge our concerns and say they are working at improving it. Again, the setting and restaurant itself have so much potential. It was surprising to us that a hotel of this caliber would allow this to go on without comment. (I’ll add that we’re pretty flexible people who let a lot slide and don’t over complain.) It’s difficult to mention all of the small (and big details) that we loved about this place. They make sure you see the ocean no matter where you are with the magnificent use of windows. They also had small jars of homegrown flowers for us to take to our rooms. We attended dueling pianos one night (Included with the price) and while we forgot about yoga (included) we will do that next time. Music was set up in the lobby area a couple of nights as well (mostly weekends and Wednesdays.) I also really appreciated a text welcoming us prior to arrival. They actually replied to texts back and were very accommodating. Other small details? Th

Five of us were celebrating our granddaughter’s participation in a musical after a theater camp at the Ogunquit Playhouse and our daughter decided upon The Tiller Restaurant at The Cliff House Hotel. It was one of those mixed weather evenings with rain, double rainbows and constantly moving clouds which provided entertainment through the tall windows of the dining room. Our server Melissa was top notch: friendly, attentive and helpful. Regarding the food: it was amazing! Two in the family ordered the Lobster and corn chowder, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Two of us chose the Squash Carpaccio, which was “whipped ricotta, speck, Meyer lemon, roasted pepper agrodolce, and roasted pine nuts.” I have never had anything like it! When the main courses arrived, we continued to be pleased. Our son-in-law had the Seared scallops, which came with lobster fried rice and green curry aioli! He was delighted! Three of us ordered the salmon, from the Gulf of Maine. Our server told us that “sous vide” indicated a special way to poach the salmon to the perfect temperature and it was perfectly delicious with a “warm clam and bacon emulsion and parsley oil!” Our granddaughter was served Mac and cheese in a metal container and she loved it along with her French fries. Somehow we managed to save room for dessert! Three decided upon the Tiller Ice Cream Sandwich, which realistically was two cookies each. Next time they will split a serving, despite how good it was. I had the Maine Blueberry Cheesecake (when in Rome…) and did not regret it! Yummy it was! I must add that the hotel was very impressive as we walked through. My husband and I had been there about 13 years ago and there have obviously been considerable upgrades and renovations, at least to the Tiller Restaurant, bar area and outside. We hope to return again!

We’re currently staying at the Cliffhouse and this hotel just doesn’t live up to what it costs. We arrived to an unenthusiastic welcome at the front desk and our room wasn’t ready. Check in was at 4:00, and we weren’t let in until after that time and only because we went to the desk to complain. All that was offered to make up for the late check in was to wave the resort fee for a day. The room smells musty and incredibly unpleasant. Then we went with our 3 kids to have breakfast and were told that wasn’t possible without a reservation. What hotel doesn’t let guests just come and eat breakfast unplanned? We stay at many 5 star hotels and this one just doesn’t live up to those standards.

From the moment you walk into the front lobby, the views from the floor to ceiling windows are spectacular...you feel like you're on a cruise ship. The lobby has comfortable seating if you want to hang out, have a drink, read a book and take in that view. It also overlooks the 1st floor with a great bar area and Tillers Restaurant. Make sure to explore the entire hotel for their great art work displayed throughout, cool movie theater for rainy days and their Discovery Room (I believe it's called). The Valent & front desk staff is very warm & friendly. We had a 2 King, coastal view room which is perfect for a family of 4...well appointed, updated & clean. The bedding was incredibly comfortable - satin. My only issue was our room was near the front lobby with lots of traffic walking by late at night and early morning...making it quite loud at times. Our view was also a bit obstructed by a lower rooftop with ugly vents. I would opt for a higher room on our next visit. My family (wife & 2 teenagers) loved the 13 & over pool overlooking the ocean (there is also a family pool for those traveling with kids under 13). You can order food/drinks poolside and our server was so sweet. Nubb's Lobster House is also located near that main pool area and the food is fantastic! While a Pterodactyl size seagull prefers to hunt for diners food rather than fishing in the ocean, swooping down to steal our lobster roll and came back for my daughters chicken tenders, make sure to keep your little ones safe. The concierge, Justin, was really the highlight of the resort (aside from those views). Incredibly friendly & helpful. He deserves much praise...and a nice raise (if management is reading this). :) We will most certainly be back!

What a great experience from the moment we pulled up with our vehicle until the moment we checked out. Extremely friendly and courteous staff. My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights (Wed-Mon) and enjoyed our view of the ocean and the many boats that passed by while we sat on our balcony. The room was clean, updated, and the bed was very comfortable. Everything in the room worked to perfection.....air conditioner, tv, safe, shower, toilet. The housekeeping staff was friendly and did a great job keeping our room fully stocked with linens. We loved the turndown service in the evening, especially the chocolates left on the night stand. We had dinner and brunch at the Tiller restaurant and enjoyed having a drinks listening to the nightly musicians by the big stone fireplace. The Cliff House is located 8-10 minutes from downtown Ogunquit. There was valet parking as well as self parking. We chose the self parking. My wife and I used the gym on the 2nd floor on a couple of occasions. Very modern bikes, treadmills, nautilus equipment, free weights, and mats. The best hotel gym we've seen thus far. While you work out, there is a great view of the ocean. My wife spent many hours at the pool while I read near the fire pit. The pool setting was gorgeous and overlooked the ocean. Plenty of seating and servers to make your stay comfortable. We enjoyed each night going to the Maine Station which was located on every floor. The Maine Station had complimentary coffee, tea, water, apples, and ice. This station was available 24 hours a day. There was a very warm and cozy vibe with the Cliff House. Nicely decorated, fireplaces, beautiful tables and chairs to relax on. This is a great place for couples to relax and get away without the kids. Is the Cliff House expensive? Yes. Did it meet our expectations? Yes. It exceeded them. You only live once and you don't want to be the richest guy at the cemetery. We will be back!

The coffee shop was located a short walk from the entrance of the Cliff House and near the firepit. My wife and I visited on a Friday morning after the rush. They appeared to be opened only from 0700 hours to 1200 hours. There were about 6 tables outside the shop so you can sit there or sit at the firepit and enjoy your drink and food. There was no seating inside. My wife and I are coffee snobs so we didn't know what to expect. The coffee was very good but very very overpriced. As were the muffins. The prices were Starbucks on steroids. We had a large and medium coffee, two muffins, and a fruit cup. $33. The fruit cup was small but fresh. We understand this was a very fancy resort but the guests of the hotel have access to FREE coffee and FREE tea anytime they want it. Why would these prices be so high. A sweatshirt was $90 and a wine tumbler was $55. The service was friendly. We chose the free coffee after that experience. We had a full breakfast out at a couple of restaurants for $36 and $38 over the weekend and laughed about it. With the pool only a short walk away from the shop, I thought they would be open longer for people who wanted ice coffees.

Was very impressed with Bald Head Coffee Co, great service and can never go wrong with Nobl cold brew on tap. They had a nutty cold brew as a special which was perfect, highly recommended.

Great coffee shop at the Cliff House. The boss move is to score a cup of coffee and one of their excellent breakfast sandwiches. Then enjoy them at the fire pit.
