“Great place for a fancy night out! The duck was very good and falling off the bone (one piece was a little drier than the other) and the rice with the sauce was definitely top notch. I would highly recommend the brioche donuts for dessert. I still crave more of the donuts ”
“This is the third time we've stayed at The Cliff House Resort and it never disappoints! They offer one of the most fabulous, peaceful and tranquil views along the northeastern coast. The facility it beautiful and everything you need is available on property. The staff is friendly, professional and most amenable at remedying any and all challenges that may occur. We'll be back for sure!”
“The lobster roll was a triumph of flavors, with succulent chunks of lobster nestled in a perfectly toasted, buttery roll. The combination of sweet and savory elements danced on my taste buds, leaving me longing for more. The shrimp roll was equally delightful, boasting plump, well-seasoned shrimp that provided a delightful contrast in texture. However, the crab roll, while enjoyable, didn’t quite reach the heights of its counterparts, with a flavor that fell slightly short of expectations.but overpriced.”
“What a gem! Although we are "regulars" of the Kittery food and drink scene we hadn't made it here until a wintery Friday night. Cozy vibe, extremely friendly, attentive, creative staff. The Bourbon lovers in our crowd praised "A fist in the mouth of time" and "Something for Timmy". The gin drinkers loved "Text me Ishmael" and the tequila lovers loved "Jupiter Jazz". We managed to sample a cocktail created by each of the mixologists working... we coverd a lot of the menu territory but there is still much more to explore. We're definitely coming back. Thanks to the team of talented folks behind the bar.”
“Not terrible. I had the surf and turf with filet and lobster tail. It was not terrible lobster, but it was a little tough which was surprising given the location and the about $80 that the plate costed. The steak was a little better but could have used more flavor. Over-all not bad, but the plate should have been more at a $45 price point relative to its quality. I would say keep the higher price and improve the plate.”
“We ate at the Front Yard Saturday 3/23/24, our meals and service was excellent. The Octopus we had for an appetizer was tender and so delicious. Our meals were delicious also, I had the Lobster and Shrimp with papperdelli ale vodka and my wife had the seafood baulabaise. Jenni was our waitress and she was awesome.”
“Delicious creative food; family friendly clean and fun. Loved everything. Cauliflower, bao, rice cakes delicious - and buttered pasta for kids was a huge hit. Love love love.”
“I cannot say enough about how happy I was that Popovers was closed on Tuesday. My wife and I were originally intending on going there, and needed to find an alternative. We stumbled upon Elephantine. Wow! We walked into this charming little cafe and were transported to Paris. The products looked delicious, and we soon found out that they didn’t only look delicious. The young lady, who was serving us, was exceptionally friendly and added to our pleasure. We ordered a yogurt, with, as I can recall, a pistachio, brittle granola, sliced fruit, honey and so on. We also wanted to just try some of their bread in toast form so I asked if we could order something that wasn’t on the menu. We just ordered some sourdough bread and wanted to have it with butter and jelly. The server promptly made it happen. The food was delivered and all of it was prepared at a very high level. Everything was not only prepared well in terms of ingredients and quality of the food, but it was also cooked/displayed nicely. The medley of food, atmosphere, and music made for the nicest breakfast I have had in a long time. We would recommend this shining star to anyone! The Elephantine is top notch!”
“The absolute attention to detail is something you never knew that you needed in your dining experience until you have had the pleasure of dining at Massimos. The new chef is absolutely stellar. The sommelier is the best in Portsmouth.”
“I have been here several times. And the ambiance is always great. The staff is great. I have had the duck, land, and steak, they were all delicious. The French onion soup is really good. Everything I have ordered here has not disappointed in taste. You can spend $100 on one person with food and drinks. But you should come here for the food and experience not the price if that matters to you.”
“This place was jumping!! Line wrapped fully around the counter and out the door! And their food explains why! From their pastries to their pizza everything was so tasty! We also got this sausage with jalapeño and cheddar cheese wrapped in a melt in your mouth croissant! It was so delicious! I ate all my food before thinking of taking a picture because it was that tasty! oh ya, and don’t forget to try one of their house made crullers!”
“The Puddle Dock was pretty much exactly as I expected, considering how much I had looked into it ahead of time. The entire reason for going was for the rarebit my boss had informed me of during a discussion about foods I had grown up with. The food was all incredible and was interesting to see the inside of the building since I had grown up going to Strawberry Bank as a child and getting pickles from a pickle barrel when it was a store. The post and beam structure still looks incredible and the layout of the bar is extremely well done. The atmosphere that is given was extremely laid back. The one thing that took away, for me, was a few of the wait staff that had come by have an arrogance when speaking to you that is a bit off putting. It is clear that it is not all of them but enough to discourage.I had an old fashioned, the rarebit which came with bits of duck, brussel sprouts and a fried egg on top as an appetizer and the Shepard's pie as a meal. The Shepard's pie came out with a crust making it look more like pot pie but added a wonderful texture to it. The flavor was incredible though be warned of how hot that dish is and how long it will need to cool. Definitely worth the visit and experience.”
“Decided to try something new with my work crew, and got recommendations that Durbar was great. As soon as I walked in, everyone was super friendly and personable, and the atmosphere was calming and comfortable. The smells and decorations really put me in a good mood and ready to try the food. We ordered a little bit of everything, so we could try as much as possible, and that was without a doubt a great idea because everything (yes everything) was fantastic. Tried all the sides and desserts, and a good variety of the entrees, and my goodness...what a excellent experience, it was legitimately all so delicious, nobody tried anything they didn't like. 100% will be coming back and continuing to spread the word at work because this made our week.Kid-friendliness: While I was there, everyone was very kind and courteous. A younger child came in to pick up some food with her dad and was treated very nicely and respectfully, and engaged with at her level. She seemed super excited to get her rice pudding, and I know why now, it's amazing.”
“We have just had the best breakfast here, the best since we landed in Boston last week! Very tasty food, I would highly recommend this lovely cafe! First day it opened too! I wish them luck for the future!”
“I went with two friends and we really enjoyed our full experience at Nichinan. This is a great place to share different plates. It was hard to choose what to order because everything on the food and drink menu is fun and enticing. Everything we tried was delicious! The service was perfect. There was never an empty cup, we had everything we needed, our server knew each dish really well and was excited to share about the chef's menu. The atmosphere is just about the best in town. Clean, well designed and gorgeous dining area. The same goes for the bathroom and waiting area. Looking forward to going back!Dietary restrictions: The server made sure to ask everyone at the table if there were allergies or diet restrictions in the group to be aware of.”
“This absolutely phenomenal I had the bacon, egg and cheese croissant with avocado. Also, iced lavender latte splendidly delicious. I would definitely recommend and coming back AGAIN!”
“I thought it was a little pricey. We went at a busy time. They really packed them in. I got baked stuff lobster and it was delicious with whole shrimp and scallops in the stuffing. Not much "stuffing".The dining room overlooks the water but we couldn't see it because of the other tables.”
“Great little chill spot for delicious food. My husband had a burger which he described as juicy and flavorful. I had a ranch chicken sandwich. The chicken was fried to perfection. My son was pleased with his kids meal and the milkshakes made all of us happy. We’ll be back!”
“My wife and I have been fortunate enough to have traveled the world, and I can say with complete confidence that we had THE BEST breakfast of our lives at Friendly Toast in Portsmouth NH. I had The Irish Benedict, and my wife had The Hash Quiche. Oh my gosh! They were off-the-chain delicious. These aren't like a standard breakfast from IHOP or Denny's. These are breakfast choices I don't recall having had before. The food was so good that we went two mornings in a row. If you're ever in Portsmouth, eat here. Get there right at 8 am because it fills up in a hurry. Basil was our waiter the first morning, and Summer was our waitress the second morning, and they both did a great job.”
“Love this place. I'm a regular. A+ across the grid except folks, your tiny napkins are horrible. I have to use about 20 to eat a burger. Do yourselves a favor and profile a decent napkin. If not I'm gonna start bringing my own Viva. You're a burger joint...time to step it up! ?”
“This was our first time at Green Elephant and we can't wait to go back! Finding a restaurant with lots of vegan options is difficult, so when we discover one and it's great, we get excited! We went for lunch, getting there right when they opened and by the time we left an hour and change later, they were completely full. We had an app, the king oyster mushroom tempura, a noodle curry, and a stir fry. All were amazing. The atmosphere was very nice as well. We didn't get any drinks, but they had a really creative cocktail menu - we'll be back for dinner and drinks next time!”
“Excellent Detroit-style pizza. You could tell the dough and sauce were made in-house with good quality ingredients. The only negative: my order took much longer than the anticipated wait time. We would go back.”
“Coffee was pretty good, but it wasn't really "traditional" Turkish coffee. They just poured boiling water over finely ground coffee in the cup they served it in. To charge $3.5 (plus tax + tip) for that is silly. Those who know how to really make a Turkish coffee where cold water and grounds are brought to a boil on a hot surface, know that it takes time and careful attention to make sure it doesn't bubble over, it's not over-extracted, etc. I wouldn't care so much if they didn't have a sign that literally says they make it the traditional way (should have taken a photo to post here). It comes in a nice cup and with a sweet marshmallow-like treat, which is a nice touch. The interior is cool and they have some traditional snacks that are really good. I'd maybe try a drip coffee or something else if I go here again, but I'd skip the "traditional Turkish coffee" unless they start making it properly.”
“This is a must do every time in Ogunquit, the best lobster roll every time. We usually get one in butter and one in mayo and split them. Both are that good. Can’t wait until they open for the ”
“From the minute you walk into The Franklin you feel the warmth of the space. The servers are knowledgeable and friendly. We ate everything and it was flippin amazing - I took my sister and her husband here and his eyes lit up when he caught site of the selection of oysters! He still talks about The Franklin and makes me take him there every time they are in town.”
“Great food and some unique combinations of ingredients. Spinach salad was excellent. Very tasty roasted garlic dressing. Had the stuffed sole special. Sauce was a lemon caper which over powered the delicate fish although my friend loved it. Tight seating so not much privacy between tables. We got there just before 5pm on a Thursday in March and place was almost full. They don't take reservations so go early.Parking: Small parking lot for restaurant. Street parking available”
“I had the seafood stuffed haddock and it was amazing! The owner was awesome, it was so fun sitting at the bar chatting with locals and bartenders!! Highly recommend!!”
“Our food was great as chef perfectly accommodated my request for light garlic in the shrimp scampi. My wife loved her stuffed haddock. These were part of the Sunday special: good sized entree and blueberry pie for $18 which is cheap for just the entree alone. Nice decor and our server Shannon was fantastic. We'll be back!”
“Delightful restaurant in the historic district in Portsmouth! Very friendly, super attentive service! Zoe excellent wait person! American tapas; small bites meant to share. Fab beef sliders ? and super good and authentic Italian sausage mini sandwiches. Loved the crispy Brussel sprouts cooked in the style of Carciofi alla Roma! Both the mini Whoopie pies and cinnamon beignets were fab!! Great place with super convenient location. Parking is expensive in the whole area but plentiful. Great and super fun dinner!!!”
“Literally obsessed!! Stopped on a whim and honestly I gasped at how good the empanadas and churros were. I would 100% support franchising Lorena’s Empanadas so I could have one closer to home and eat there all the time (a girl can dream)! I’ll definitely be back and spreading the word!”
