About Jumpin' Jay's Fish Cafe

Jumpin' Jay's Fish Cafe in Portsmouth is a fantastic place with incredibly delicious food. The seafood is fresh and has bold flavors. Many guests start with warm bread, butter, olives, and roasted garlic cloves. For appetizers, the oysters are amazing, and the little neck clams are a favorite. Popular dinner choices include the seafood fettuccini with shrimp, scallops, lobster and cherry tomatoes, the haddock picatta, and the seafood pasta. The linguine and clams are good, and the lobster bisque is super velvety and rich. The haddock with lobster veloute and miso ginger sauce is near perfect. For dessert, the brown butter cookie dish is very good. The atmosphere is nice with low light and high decadence. Service is exceptional, with fast and attentive bartenders and friendly staff. The manager also checks on tables. While not a cheap night out, the service and quality are worth the treat. Guests love the experience and would go back in a heartbeat.

oh wow... what a find! We were looking for a seafood restaurant when passing thru the area and the name caught our attention. We had an amazing dinner! We both chose the seafood fettuccine, which was heavenly - incredible pasta and sauce topped with succulent seafood. Desserts were lavender creme brulee and white chocolate cake...Holy cow! Dinner and service were both top-notch.. and we can't wait to return!

Great restaurant in historic Portsmouth.

Friendly and attentive staff, reasonable prices, and the haddock piccata was fantastic. Only bummer was the clam chowder. It was just okay.
