“Decided to try something new with my work crew, and got recommendations that Durbar was great. As soon as I walked in, everyone was super friendly and personable, and the atmosphere was calming and comfortable. The smells and decorations really put me in a good mood and ready to try the food. We ordered a little bit of everything, so we could try as much as possible, and that was without a doubt a great idea because everything (yes everything) was fantastic. Tried all the sides and desserts, and a good variety of the entrees, and my goodness...what a excellent experience, it was legitimately all so delicious, nobody tried anything they didn't like. 100% will be coming back and continuing to spread the word at work because this made our week.Kid-friendliness: While I was there, everyone was very kind and courteous. A younger child came in to pick up some food with her dad and was treated very nicely and respectfully, and engaged with at her level. She seemed super excited to get her rice pudding, and I know why now, it's amazing.“

“A must stop if a local or tourist. We live in downtown Boston and I must say this is in my top 5 restaurants. The food is top notch and easily competes and wins against many other restaurants in Boston. We sat at the bar as we prefer casual elegance and Peter was very knowledgeable and gave excellent suggestions and service. A wonderful evening and we thank you.“

“Love this place. I'm a regular. A+ across the grid except folks, your tiny napkins are horrible. I have to use about 20 to eat a burger. Do yourselves a favor and profile a decent napkin. If not I'm gonna start bringing my own Viva. You're a burger joint...time to step it up! ?“

“When I was staying at the Hampton Inn with my Son the included breakfast was awful. I looked up a place nearby for breakfast and saw this gem right down the street. The atmosphere was amazing. Think 50s mixed with 80s and just very "cool" feeling. The food was just as Amazing. The service was also really top tier. The waitress was very attentive and polite and it just felt really good to be there. The vibes were awesome. I will go there again the next time I'm here 100%.“

“This was our first time at Green Elephant and we can't wait to go back! Finding a restaurant with lots of vegan options is difficult, so when we discover one and it's great, we get excited! We went for lunch, getting there right when they opened and by the time we left an hour and change later, they were completely full. We had an app, the king oyster mushroom tempura, a noodle curry, and a stir fry. All were amazing. The atmosphere was very nice as well. We didn't get any drinks, but they had a really creative cocktail menu - we'll be back for dinner and drinks next time!“

“This place is pretty rad. My gf and I were looking for a cool spot for lunch (she's vegetarian, I'm not) and we found this joint. Sat at the bar, our server Lindsey was present but not looming, helpful but not pushy and kinda funny. Cocktail menu seemed new w names like "almost summer" and a solid beer list. The menu is broad enough that there were MANY options for each of us, and the portions were average to large. Whoever said the portions were small needs to stop ordering off the kids menu. Good music that you can recognize but always in the background. Just a cool, funky joint w great food. Eat here.“

“Delightful restaurant in the historic district in Portsmouth! Very friendly, super attentive service! Zoe excellent wait person! American tapas; small bites meant to share. Fab beef sliders ? and super good and authentic Italian sausage mini sandwiches. Loved the crispy Brussel sprouts cooked in the style of Carciofi alla Roma! Both the mini Whoopie pies and cinnamon beignets were fab!! Great place with super convenient location. Parking is expensive in the whole area but plentiful. Great and super fun dinner!!!“

“This is by far the best Indian dining within an hour. The staff is all very polite and friendly. A few years ago they completely renovated during covid and its a nice atmosphere. My wife and I never dine in for Indian anywhere else in New Hampshire.Vegetarian options: It’s Indian, vegetarians and omnivores alike are very happy here.Parking: Parking isn’t expensive. Street or garage right here.“

“This is hands down my favorite cafe in Portsmouth! Very vegan friendly. Such a bright, cozy and eclectic vibe inside with kind and helpful staff. This place has phenomenal coffee and tea drinks with multiple plant based milks. They typically have a few vegan pastries/ treats on display near the cashier and they have three clearly labeled vegan wraps on their food menu. Grateful for a space that caters to everyone’s dietary needs/ preferences!“
“Boyfriend and I, who are from out of town stumbled across this place today because their flag blew off in the wind as we were walking by so we brought it inside and were unexpectedly thanked with a treat from the super friendly staff. It was so tasty we had to come back to get more, and will definitely keep this place in mind whenever we’re back in Portsmouth.“

“Went out to dinner here on a Friday, and even though it was very busy (because the food is amazing), we got a table quickly and got some apps/meals.The food was incredible, the service was supreme, and it was just an overall great night. Would highly recommend and we will be back!Dietary restrictions: Made sure there were no nuts with anything I ordered and the wait staff was very attentive.Parking: There is a paid parking lot nearby.“

“Finally placed a takeout order at Bob's having passed by it many times, and glad we tried it. Our order was ready on time as promised and was accurately put together. I tried a broiled quarter chicken with two sides (mac & cheese, sausage stuffing) and some corn bread. Everything seemed home made, hot and quite tasty. The stuffing really seemed home made, but the mac and cheese was a tad dry for my liking. The chicken was tender, moist and delicious. Like most food these days at any restaurant/supermarket, prices seemed a tad high. Portion sizes were generous however. I'll be back to try the chicken pot pie, which is one of my favorite comfort food dishes. Give Bob's a try! Sorry no photos as I dug in so quickly I forgot to snap first!“

“Went to Portsmouth for a Birthday weekend. When we go away I loke to see what places we would like to eat and the BRGR Bar did not disappoint. The burgers were great definitely needed to cut it in half. One of the best burgers I have ever had. When in the area one of the places I will go to. Our server Mike was great.“
“Red Rover Creamery in Portsmouth, NH, deserves every bit of its 10/10 rating! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the heavenly scent of freshly baked cookies, cakes and treats. “Had to kill some time today before an appointment in Portsmouth so I decided to grab an acai bowl because i was getting pretty hungry and i had no idea how long my appointment afterwards was going to go... Best decision ever! Even tho it was busy, the woman at the counter (Ella? Bella?) got my order done quickly, deliciously, and with a real smile.“
“I just made a quick trip to Portsmouth today and as I’m driving back to MA I was trying the mint chocolate cookie and the Tonga and now I’m disappointed I didn’t buy more! It was so good! The staff who rang me up was also very very kind too! Super polite and friendly. I plan to come back again, hopefully soon!! :)“

“Pretty busy at 630am on a Monday. But for good reason. Food was really good, had the hash house Benedict and it was cooked to perfection, including the potatoes. Only thing that stops the dish from being perfect was the hollandaise, it wasn’t bad but if it was better it would just make it flawless. The service was great even considering how busy it was. Would definitely recommend.“

“On a cold weekday, I decided to head to the Soupery to satiate a craving for chicken noodle. The location is wonderfully walkable if you work in downtown Portsmouth. Service was quick, friendly, and helpful when they ran out of the full amount of one ordered soup. My officemate and I traded bites and all the kinds we ordered were delicious and had that great homemade quality. Not much to say about ambiance because there's an ordering window and that's it! You won't have to stand in the cold long!“

“I love this old building and the character it has retained. The hype leading up to this dining experience may have overshot the mark. Our party of 6 dined, and the majority of us felt that the food was lack luster, esp. given the price. We expected to be blown away, and really only one of us felt that way. The mixed drinks were okay but inconsistent with each round. The ceasar was cold and fresh, and the salad dressing clearly home made. The Wagyu sirloin did not impress. The lobster mac & cheese was bland and barely had lobster meat in it. The best course was dessert. Everyone who had something was impressed by those. For the money, we've had far better food but the overall atmosphere was very nice.“

“Great restaurant! First thing I noticed is the happiness of the employees o thing but smiles. Everyone working helped each other and they seemed to be a team who enjoys working with each other because of that our service was impeccable. From drinks to the food everything was delicious. We started with fried calamari cooked perfectly, we had warm rolls served with soft butter ,roasted garlic and olives. We ordered the salmon and monk fish both cooked with so much flavor and the presentation was beautiful. Then for dessert we ordered the banana cake new on the menu I’m not a sweet eater but this was perfect not too sweet…..definitely everyone should visit this restaurant.“

“A delicious and memorable dining experience. The charm factor of this beautiful old space is off the charts and the staff were warm and friendly. Chef Evan Mallet is a wizard at sourcing the best local and seasonal ingredients. You can taste the passion and culinary skill in each dish. Reservations are not required but are highly suggested on busy nights. Pro tip: ask for the window tables upstairs to enjoy a romantic sunset!“

“This review is a little delayed as we ate their last summer but we had such a great meal that I when I came across their website while seeking dinner options I had to take pause and drop this 5 star review. Excellent meal and we enjoyed eating in the outdoor seating area!“
“Next to the water park on Lafayette Street. It has a very good Cinemagic movie theater, McKinnon's meat market, and Petco shop. There is also a convenient and very good Starbucks.Food can be had at the 99 Restaurant, Ollie's and Me, Subway's Restaurant, and Dough Craft Pizza. Cross the street for Taco Bell and Burger King. Across the street from Starbucks is Cantina Vida. The parking lot is currently under repair and building of a new structure.“

“Most everything can be made vegan and gluten free! I've always enjoyed the food, but do find it's not the same quality as a place like Roots. It can get pretty busy and noisy, but in warmer months sitting outside in Vaughn Mall is nice. This is the type of place that has loyalty rewards, yet they don't, which is surprising.“

“Food, drinks, & service so consistently amazing, that I'd consider moving out this way just to have this be our "usual" Mexican restaurant, could we afford the move. It's. That. Good. !!!We've been here maybe half a dozen times in as many years. Every time we're just blown away. The margaritas are refreshing & so flavorful (try the habanero margarita with cilantro - you're welcome ?). We tried the salsa flight this last time, no idea why we've never done that before but they were all SO FLAVORFUL, & we love their thick, salty chips. ?This last time I got a tofu taco, a masa fried shrimp taco, & a pescado taco (fried). The flavor combinations were incredible...!!! So unique, perfectly balanced, unlike anything I've ever had before, in the best possible way. [$6 each for such incredible tacos is ? worth it, IMHO. Totally competitive pricing. Regularly pay $5 per taco elsewhere & they're nowhere near as good, so $6 per taco here is perfectly reasonable.]Service has always been super friendly & fast. They're always up to giving recommendations & we're never disappointed!Really my only complaint is how tight the tables are. I know it's an old Friendly's but we really feel quite squished in the booths, even with our small children with us. Would be quite uncomfortable with two adult couples in one booth. This is nit-picky though, obviously it would be a huge undertaking & a massive expense to shut down & renovate, & really, the food is so gosh-darn good that I really don't care, it's not like it's gonna keep us from going back.Their chef was nominated for a James Beard award - I believe it! ?Cannot recommend highly enough! ?“

“The sushi here is fantastic, with an emphasis on the Chef's special rolls. They have some classic combos, but some of their unique creations will blow you away. I tried the No. 456 Roll tonight and it was incredible. I've tried the hibachi in house and also "to-go" and the portions are great, food is great both ways. This place is a blast especially with a large group.“

“This place used to be a surface level parking lot. So, automatic positive review. This business seems to go through little changes all the time. I miss the water stations, the swing chairs, and the new uniforms give a corporate feel that I don’t think fits the beautiful community environment they’ve created. It seems the lounge spaces disappear in favor of more tables. The bar area is very nice as well as the fire place during winter. I am very excited to see how the outside dining area will develop as the weather warms up.“

“My salmon over lobster ravioli was excellent however my wife's linguine with clams was disappointing, there was no sauce, was supposed to be white wine, garlic, olive oil, and crushed red pepper (sounded great but was nonexistent ). The service was very good and the food arrived quickly, all at the same time. Deserving of a healthy tip. Our 2 guests were very satisfied with their meals. On the expensive side at $250 for the four of us with 2 drinks.“

“Everything was awesome. Food was delicious. Went as a group of 5 and the staff handled it no problem. However, one of us ordered a burrito de asada and somehow it had asada y pollo. It had chicken in it. Though my friend didn't complain, his meal, and experience was ruined.“

“Not terrible. I had the surf and turf with filet and lobster tail. It was not terrible lobster, but it was a little tough which was surprising given the location and the about $80 that the plate costed. The steak was a little better but could have used more flavor. Over-all not bad, but the plate should have been more at a $45 price point relative to its quality. I would say keep the higher price and improve the plate.“
