“We loved The Surf! Our server, Jake (from state farm) was charming, funny, and great at making menu recommendations. My lobster was to die for as well as my sushi roll. Everyone loved their food and our only regret is that we didn’t have time to go again while on our trip!“

“I’m from the Boston area and was meeting a friend in Portsmouth for dinner. We picked Durbar Square and we’re definitely not disappointed. We had an absolutely fabulous meal there. The chicken chili was a delicious, and a different approach than any chili I’ve had before. The chicken was perfect cooked. The sauce was full of flavor. They also ask you to pick yours spice range from 1-10 so you can choose what suits you best. The owner, John, is totally engaged with his customers and if you want, can even demonstrate a yoga pose or 2 (which he is very good at). Just overall a great place to eat.“

“oh wow... what a find! We were looking for a seafood restaurant when passing thru the area and the name caught our attention. We had an amazing dinner! We both chose the seafood fettuccine, which was heavenly - incredible pasta and sauce topped with succulent seafood. Desserts were lavender creme brulee and white chocolate cake...Holy cow! Dinner and service were both top-notch.. and we can't wait to return!“

“Amazing. My expectations were pretty high because of the reviews and somehow it was even better than I expected. I got a farmhouse burger with a soft egg and a mint chocolate milkshake. The burger was cooked exactly the way I like and the egg was picture perfect to the point I was almost sad to ruin it by taking a bite. The shake, my lord, what a treat. I am putting this place right at the top of my places to frequent going forward.“

“Amazing first time visit to the Portsmouth NH location…from the the decor…to the scrumptious meals we had, Chicken Cordon Blue Benny and an Omelet with a heaping side plate of various meats( sausage,bacon and ham) and not to mention bottomless coffee refills……however what stood out the most was our server Emma ! Emma - has a unique talent for making you feel like you are the most important person in the room, even as she was juggling all her tables. Emma is the kind of server who can tell you a great story and refill your coffee at the same time. Emma -thank you for making our visit so enjoyable..we will be back! But wait….first we have to try the corn beef(outstanding!) hash before we hit the road!! 😊“

“I was planning to go to a different downtown restaurant and walked in to this one as it started raining. The waitress took every effort to ensure our dietary requirements were taken care of. They had quite a few veggie burger options. We picked The Cool Beans, which came with a black bean and corn patty. She was quite transparent with the fact that they used the same fryer and oil for frying meat,veggie appetizers and fries. So, she substituted fries with freshly sliced avocado. The burger itself was thick and juicy. We ordered a PB& Chocolate milkshake that capped out dinner. They went out of the way to limit cross contamination. Will definitely return.“

“We ordered takeout from Dough in Portsmouth, NH… but the atmosphere was so warm, cozy, and welcoming that we decided to stay and enjoy ourselves instead. 💛 As vegans, we were honestly blown away by how accommodating everyone was — especially the vegan chef Jenny, who went above and beyond for us. She made vegan fettuccine Alfredo, vegan chocolate milk, incredible vegan sundaes, and every single thing we tried was delicious. “I always love coming to the Pink Bamboo. The servers are so kind, the owner is amazing, and the quality of ingredients is perfect. I always leave here so incredibly full and happy. We’ve been coming here for at least 4-5 years and no other hot pot can compete. They may have a smaller selection of broths, but it’s worth it for the quality. “Izzy’s is actually open despite what this says. We went both days of our visit to Portsmouth. There were six vegan options including ice creams and sorbet. We particularly loved the cookie dough! We went in on a Sunday and it was pretty busy, we ordered, got our food to go, went out to the car and when we opened the bag we were disappointed to see that the soup we got was half full, missing the baguette, and the 2 bagels were cold. I walked back inside and Brendan greeted me again and I explained to him our issue. With 0 issues he walked back into the kitchen, got my girlfriend a new FULL soup as well with a baguette, and also tossed a cookie in the bag for us.
