“We loved The Surf! Our server, Jake (from state farm) was charming, funny, and great at making menu recommendations. My lobster was to die for as well as my sushi roll. Everyone loved their food and our only regret is that we didn’t have time to go again while on our trip!“

“I’m from the Boston area and was meeting a friend in Portsmouth for dinner. We picked Durbar Square and we’re definitely not disappointed. We had an absolutely fabulous meal there. The chicken chili was a delicious, and a different approach than any chili I’ve had before. The chicken was perfect cooked. The sauce was full of flavor. They also ask you to pick yours spice range from 1-10 so you can choose what suits you best. The owner, John, is totally engaged with his customers and if you want, can even demonstrate a yoga pose or 2 (which he is very good at). Just overall a great place to eat.“

I have never had an issue here and the food has been consistent across the board. The staff is always friendly and fast with how they make the food. The burger was cooked exactly the way I like and the egg was picture perfect to the point I was almost sad to ruin it by taking a bite. The shake, my lord, what a treat. I am putting this place right at the top of my places to frequent going forward.“

“Amazing first time visit to the Portsmouth NH location…from the the decor…to the scrumptious meals we had, Chicken Cordon Blue Benny and an Omelet with a heaping side plate of various meats( sausage,bacon and ham) and not to mention bottomless coffee refills……however what stood out the most was our server Emma ! Emma - has a unique talent for making you feel like you are the most important person in the room, even as she was juggling all her tables. Emma is the kind of server who can tell you a great story and refill your coffee at the same time. Emma -thank you for making our visit so enjoyable..we will be back! But wait….first we have to try the corn beef(outstanding!) hash before we hit the road!! 😊“

“I never write reviews but this place is AMAZING! My mom & I stopped in for crepes, we had a sweet one and a savory one and also a tart and vanilla ice coffees. Everything was perfection and tasted great! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, the atmosphere very nice. This was the highlight of our trip we loved it so much and will definitely be returning! 🥰“

“I was planning to go to a different downtown restaurant and walked in to this one as it started raining. The waitress took every effort to ensure our dietary requirements were taken care of. They had quite a few veggie burger options. We picked The Cool Beans, which came with a black bean and corn patty. She was quite transparent with the fact that they used the same fryer and oil for frying meat,veggie appetizers and fries. So, she substituted fries with freshly sliced avocado. The burger itself was thick and juicy. We ordered a PB& Chocolate milkshake that capped out dinner. They went out of the way to limit cross contamination. Will definitely return.“

“I always love coming to the Pink Bamboo. The servers are so kind, the owner is amazing, and the quality of ingredients is perfect. I always leave here so incredibly full and happy. We’ve been coming here for at least 4-5 years and no other hot pot can compete. They may have a smaller selection of broths, but it’s worth it for the quality. “The service here is really great. Very friendly and helpful-two women in particular, Stephanie and Courtney, were especially lovely. I had the steak and cheese sub and it was amazing. Perfectly done. I couldn't eat it all in one sitting, and the rest was just as good the next day.
I got mine too take away, but there were places to sit as well.
My daughter is vegetarian, and she was really happy with the sun that she got.

“Great view when sitting outside. The food was tasty but not to die for. My fries had good seasoning, but they were a tad cold. The crab cake sandwich had bacon on it and a great texture. Also, the waitress was friendly and prompt at serving us.“

“Kim Lai is our favorite Chinese restaurant. We have been going there, often with friends, about once a week for years and just love the place. The food is delicious and the portions are very generous. The staff is great and we have such a good time with them. We utilize their take-out service for large family gatherings during the holidays. We strongly recommend Kim Lai and in fact will be going again tonight. The boneless spareribs and hot and sour soup are Daane's favorite appetizers, followed up by exploring the many different dishes on the menu. We think you will enjoy Kim Lai!“

“The fried scallops were excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The location and view is great. The bar serves top notch drinks. It can get pretty busy in season, so I like visiting in the off-season best.

It's on the Sagamore Creek and right next door to a marina. Lots of boats and docks to look at from the outdoor dining area.

“Tried this restaurant for the first time last night and everything was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. My friends and I tried the mac & cheese flight, chicken & waffles, fried pickles and sweet Thai wings. The goat Thunder burger was cooked perfectly and my favorite, the tumbleweeds, were crispy shoestring onion rings. Highly recommend!“
