We ordered the Clam basket and Haddock basket for Dinner at 4pm Saturday Restaurant was not full maybe 70% full? It took about 30 minutes after we finished the Seafood Chowder appetizer, my wife’s Clam basket ($42 market price) came cold and soggy while my Haddock basket came with steaming hot Haddock but cold soggy fries… I highly suggest they get much better staff, our waitress cared more about smiling then serving.
Ate there tonight. The chowder was excellent but the clam basket was disappointing- cold and soggy. Was charged $42 for the clam basket and probably was the worse I have had in a very long time. This is a good place for appetizers but wouldn’t eat a meal there again.
We came in today a little after 4 pm to see if there was space for 5 of us, we weren't picky where. We waited at the host stand while servers/hosts pointedly avoided looking at us or went around us without any acknowledgement. (I know from food service friends that they're down management, but that's not an excuse.) We decided to go around the corner to The Oar House, which was an amazing experience, as always.

River House offers a delightful dining experience with great food and fantastic views of the water. The Lobster BLT and the fish tacos are standout dishes, while the chowder is praised as the best in the region. The atmosphere is lovely, and the food - especially the chicken tenders and fries - is delicious. The service is accommodating, though the drinks and pricing may not be to everyone's liking. The view and vibe make the slightly higher prices worth it, offering a scenic and relaxing meal by the riverside.
