Counting the days till you open for 2023. Our favorite lunch spot I think we have been having lunch at the dock for like 40 years. The food is always hot and fresh. The fry’s are the best anywhere.
We had a wonderful lunch at The Captain's Catch on their last day of service for the season - the crab roll and bang bang shrimp were particular favorites of our group. Service was friendly and quick, the food was excellent, and there was plenty of seating on the dock nearby right on Castine Harbor. Debbie and her team also made an amazing dinner for my group to celebrate my birthday, including lobsters, mussels, haddock chowder, salad and veggies. We all agreed it was our favorite meal of our week in Maine! I would highly recommend stopping by for lunch if you are in Castine and if you need a special meal catered give Debbie a call - you will not be disappointed!
We had a quick bite to eat while visiting Castine. We both tried the crab meat roll, which was delicious. Staff was friendly and efficient.
Food and service are fabulous. The haddock burgers are excellent with a healthy portion of haddock. The crab roll got high marks as well. We ordered a crab pie just to try it...and it was delicious...more like a crab quiche, you can cut it and share. The only negative is that there is not enough shaded space to sit and enjoy your food. Best to go on a cooler or cloudy day. Prices were very reasonable. We will definitely go back.
Great, fresh seafood, burgers, salads, shakes and much more. Not cheap, but very fresh seafood and beautiful views of the bay in Castine.
We found Castine by just driving around and visited the Dyce Head lighthouse. This food stop ended up being some of our favorite food in Maine! The staff was friendly! We got the shrimp basket, fish tacos, cheese curds and lemonade. The shrimp basket was so delicious and fresh. The fries were crispy. The cheese curds were also good. I did enjoy the fish tacos but they could've used a little heat or a touch more seasoning. The lemonade was great balance of sweet and sour. The atmosphere though was great. Enjoying good food right on the water! What more could you want?
Would love to try it but the hours are ridiculous. I've had a boat in Castine for 2 years and have yet to be able to try this place. Closes at 3pm?! What? It would be amazing to come in from a day on the water for an ice cream or some fries, but, unfortunately, they seem to only be open for lunch. To bad.
Going downhill? Good meals in the past but mediocre this time. No clams, no scallops, no fresh fish. No reason to return except for the setting which is terrific.
Beautiful spot for lunch right on the water. Not all the tables have shade, but most had umbrellas. Food was really good.
One of the best parts of summer great food and can’t get any closer to the dock

Overall, my family thought the food was mediocre. The fish (taco) was overly breaded. The bang bang shrimp sauce was decent, but again, just squeezed atop breaded shrimp. Our kids enjoyed eating the ice cream, but it wasn't their favorite ice cream in Maine. We were in agreement that the best part about eating here was the outdoor dining along the water.
Amazing fish tacos! Had 3 times while I was there! Great place to hangout and eat too.
Great food!
Very good
Great place to order your typical fried food. It is a take-out place but they have benches on the dock to eat your meal. Can also get ice cream here as well.
