This review is waaaay overdue, but this place is so special and deserves every star I can give it and more.

Returning to Castine for the first time since the sale of our family home, I was prepared for a somewhat bittersweet experience. But our stay at The Pentagoet erased all that, it was both a comfort and an inspiration. The innkeepers (just since 2022!) have revived a true historic seaside hotel, (think EM Forster meets EB White), while authentically rooting themselves and their establishment in the community as family.
