I seen the Employee with the pretty eyes (No Diddy) cleaning up, but he finished and still nobody said anything until a nurse walked up. They immediately got her order together. It's crazy because I was in line waiting. I should have been like everyone else and make it hard on him. But this review will do.

I came in this morning 12/15/23 to purchase water and upon completing my purchase I asked the young lady who was sitting in a chair for a bag. She pointed in a rude manner and said "right there" in a small and congested area where I had to go on the other side of her to get the bag when she could have easily got the plastic bag herself. Young lady if you don't like your job then simply don't work in the canteen. I found your behavior rude and unprofessional! I will never come here again!

As I worked for the Veterans canteen service for nearly 17 years my last manager Samantha Russum was a terrible manager always made it a hostile work environment the food in the kitchen was either undercooked or cold or like the mashed potatoes was runny the vending machines have gotten worse cause she is limiting how much is ordered to the point there is barely anything in them the VA employees have found the store I currently work at and have been coming in and telling me how bad it has gotten . the vending machines can't make any money if no product is in them . this has gone on since a few months after covid 19 started . she should be removed from her position. Just go visit the lake City VA and talk to the VA employees they will definitely let you know what they think.

I bought a pair of Rx eyewear. They offered free anti scratch coating and the first time I cleaned my lenses with the soft cloth provided from VCS and some eye glass cleaner I got from the local optometrist. The Lenses had scratches on them and continue to get scratched every time I clean them. The free glasses I get from my local Va outpatient clinic havent gotten scratches like these have in almost a year now. I do not recommend VCS and deleted my account and will not do business with them again. The so called discounts are bogus as well, example is the Under Armour shoes. As a veteran you can go to the UA store and get a better discount than VCS offers. Danner boots is another example, go to danner boots website and you can get a better deal than VCS. This "service" is a joke. Dont spend your money with them.

I worked for the VCS for 30 years before retiring in 2013 and I can tell you that then and now the VCS gives back to the Veterans and is a major supporter in the Veterans games. VCS is my home away from home.
