Awesome working fish market. The men working behind the counter and in the work area in the back, were true fish mongers. The fish and shellfish were clearly straight out of a boat on ice.
Everything looked so fresh it was hard to choose.
We purchased softshell lobster (which they graciously steamed for us because we were camping), salmon patties which were incredible (best I've ever had, the seasoning and added ingredients were soooo good) and haddock. Everything was so delicious and fresh tasting. I've never had softshell lobster, soooooo buttery and sweet. The haddock was flaky and really yummy as well.
The guys that work there are so nice. They were out of salmon patties so they told us they would make some fresh for us!! They suggested we go enjoy shopping a bit and they'd have the lobster and salmon patties ready to go.
The pricing was very very reasonable as well.
I am so happy I found this place. Everywhere up and down the Eastern seaboard we travel, we're always looking for great fish markets. I'd put this one (and a place in Murrells Inlet) at the top of my list. If you are in the Damariscotta/Boothbay area I highly recommend you stop by.

This is the second consecutive year we have ordered our Christmas meal from Simmons. We have ordered everything from dips, chowders, crab cakes, casseroles to live lobster and crab legs. The Simmons crew is wonderful to work with and ships everything across the country for our family to enjoy. We haven’t found one thing we didn’t love and the kindness and service from Amy and her staff is second to none.

Takes a lot for me to write a review… Friends told me this was a great fish market so I was prepared to love this place. I got the frozen fish chowder and it was beyond horrible. Thin milky buttery broth with 1 piece of fish. Fish was 1/2 the size of a newborn kitten. After warming it up, I had to remove the piece of fish to break it up. I couldn’t cut through it with a knife and fork! Never mind chew it. Wasn’t even good for chum. Revolting and disgusting.

Best seafood market I've ever been to! Employees are friendly and polite. Prices are competitive. They were offering a wine tasting when we visited. My wife and I bought a bottle and the freshest oysters from them. I have no doubt we will visit them again. They have a good thing going on.
