Takes a lot for me to write a review… Friends told me this was a great fish market so I was prepared to love this place. I got the frozen fish chowder and it was beyond horrible. Thin milky buttery broth with 1 piece of fish. Fish was 1/2 the size of a newborn kitten. After warming it up, I had to remove the piece of fish to break it up. I couldn’t cut through it with a knife and fork! Never mind chew it. Wasn’t even good for chum. Revolting and disgusting.

Best seafood market I've ever been to! Employees are friendly and polite. Prices are competitive. They were offering a wine tasting when we visited. My wife and I bought a bottle and the freshest oysters from them. I have no doubt we will visit them again. They have a good thing going on.

Excellent gourmet seafood market stocked with a nice selection of wines & beer. My husband and I stayed at a local Airbnb for a few days so happy Simmons Seafood Market was highly recommended! Fantastic customer service and large selection of fresh delicious seafood!!
Looking for a nice oyster shucking experience at home and afraid you're going to buy some bad oysters? Go to these guys: I was able to purchase gorgeous fresh Norumbegas and some tasty Moon dancers for amazing prices!I was also able to buy beautiful, huge gulf shrimp there! They were a bit pricey, but totally worth it!I also called ahead and the guy was able to go into very specific detail about what they have. Extremely helpful overall! I will be back too often❤️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This has to be my favorite seafood shop of all time. The shop is cozy, clean, and has a wonderful selection of fresh, local seafood, as well as the occasional delicacy of king crab legs (when in season). The best part of it all, though, is the people who own and run it. My experience there is I'm always met with friendly smiles and greetings, and they're very willing to cut a piece of fish exactly to my request. Their frozen lobster mac 'n cheese is hands-down the best I've ever had, and the frozen stuffed clams are delicious! If you're ever in or near Damariscotta and crave some fresh seafood to take home, this shop needs to be on your list of stops.

I have been to the market many times, the remodel is so fresh and feels so much more of an experience than a “fish market”. I’m not the seafood eater in my family but everyone else has been incredibly happy with how fresh it is. We got multiple different varieties for our grandfather as a gift and he was blown away! Definitely 5 stars!
