Stopped by for lunch and paid $25 for a lobster roll, which was smaller than expected and was average tasting. To be in the heart of lobster country I was expecting an adequate portion of lobster. The lobster roll was very disappointing. At $5.50 for a pound of lobster for the local location, the $25 lobster roll was definitely not worth it. The haddock was decent though.

Riverside is one of my favorite take-out places ever! They hands-down have the best lobster rolls that I have found in Down-East Maine. Every year on my family vacation I get a lobster roll and every year they never disappoint! The staff are absolutely wonderful and the service is great! I love the location and the message that Riverside is sending :). I highly recommend!

Stopped by after a long weekend trip. We were very pleasantly surprised to have such a yummy meal on the go! We got haddock and shrimp baskets and all was delicious. We are a bit picky about our slaw and it was a thumbs up from everyone in our crew. The gentlemen mentioned that we would enjoy the cocktail sauce as it’s homemade. He was correct! It was the perfect compliment to the shrimp. The icing on the cake was when the gentleman gave cups of ice cream with bones for our pups! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely be coming back when in the area.

OMG how I have missed this monster haddock burger. It still amazes me. It was so yummy. Was saddened to see they weren't doing the homemade onion rings this year. Those were the best. Hope they decide to add them back to the menu. They are very pet friendly. They offer free water for your furbaby and also they will give you a doggie ice cream with a bone in it.

What a gem. Happened upon this inn. Stayed for 2 nights. Innkeeper Cynthia and I think Carole was the other gals name, made us feel at home. Breakfasts were delicious but the dinner was quite an experience. Glad we were able to get a spot when we checked in. If you are able to make it up there this year, I recommend staying here.

I know they aren't selling fried food at the moment, but I ordered the organic salad with the regular lobster amount with homemade blueberry dressing.. it was fantastic! Good portion too! The owners are super friendly. Cool place. Doggie friendly

My daughter and I were traveling up to Quoddy Head August 2021 when we found this wonderful place. We both highly recommend staying here. Bed was comfortable, staff was so friendly and breakfast was amazing. This was my first B&B experience and it definitely sets the bar high for others! Ohio here but hope to return soon. Go Bengals!

The innkeeper here is phenomenal. We were leaving on a hike early morning, and she packed our breakfast to enjoy on the way there. It consisted of fresh baked cookies, breakfast flatbread with quail eggs, fresh fruit, and protein bars for the hike. The next morning she made waffles with wild blueberries.Very historical house (prepare for shower being a bit weird if you’re staying the night) with a beautiful river view. Bring your bike to enjoy the scenic greenway.

This B&B is scenically set right on the Machias River. Upon my arrival, the owner was watching a nest of eagles across the river and gave me binoculars right then to have a look then left a set for me to watch them later. I stayed in the little apartment which definitely was in a time warp but it was comfortable and had a nice balcony that overlooked the river. Breakfast and coffee were good. Parking can be tight and the location is a bit away from any restaurants so driving is required. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Had a wonderful stay, the rooms were nice and Cynthia was a wonderful hostess and an even better cook! Food was outstanding! Seeing the nesting eagles nearby was an added bonus

Homey spot with a great ambiance, great breakfasts and service and a super restaurant for evening meals. My wife and I stayed a few nights while in the area hiking and doing the puffin tour. We loved it and plan on going back. Leave time to hike along the River and relax over great strong coffee and breakfast.

This place is so cute I love it. It’s where beach attitude meets roadside stand in Machias. Totally inclusive vibe with a sweetheart running the joint. Totally eclectic. You can get sandwiches and, of course, a lobster roll. All the food was good and it comes out relatively quickly. Open your mouth and you will enjoy every bite.

Amazing. Gay. Delicious. That’s how I would describe my experience at Riverside Take-Out. The guys “bears” are super nice, the establishment screams kindness and if you look around at all the signs you can tell they are for the community — and it’s nice to see people looking out for not only their own but everyone. The place is fun, bright, and exudes happiness. They are very green and environment friendly. Now the food — the food was so delicious that, we first had a lobster roll and had to come back 30 minutes later to try a scallop and crab roll. Everything was top notch, including their freshly made tartar sauce. My boyfriend and I want to come back every single time we are in DownEast Maine. We need to try the whole menu.Riverside Take-Out — thank you for being an example of a great establishment with delicious food that welcomes all no matter gender, race, orientation.
