Mediocre food, bland, not fresh, not properly prepared. Sloppy presentation. Slow service. Dull ambient.

Our food was great but our server, Marcus, really made the night!! He gave us the best service I’ve had in a long time. He was attentive, kind, funny, and genuine. Ask for Marcus and you will have a terrific time!

Great waiter he held conversation with us about local places to eat and drink as well as what towns are great to visit as tourists, overall great experience, strong drinks and delectable food.

Thank you Jessie B and team! We came here on a weekend trip and stayed at the Sheepscot Harbor Resort next door. The whole staff made us (and our 1-year-old) feel extremely welcomed from minute one, the service was the best we've had anywhere. From drinks, to our food, to the live music, we had a fantastic time and can't wait to come back. I recommend the blackberry mule.

Waters edge has a great vibe. They have the most breathtaking view overlooked the water and beautiful sunsets. The staff is so friendly. The food is absolutely delicious. They have a great gluten-free menu option and drinks are perfect.

Went for their special prix fixe Valentine’s dinner, $75 a person. Not worth it at all. First, they had no hostess and no bar tender. The staff was overwhelmed to say the least. The salads were tasty, as was the lobster bisque, and which was a tad salty. The onion soup was just beef broth, a few onions and a sad piece of toast. We both had the filet mignon, which while cooked correctly, was only about 1/2 “ thick. And they were absolutely smothered in a Gorgonzola sauce. Looked more like a white gravy you would serve with country fried steak. My wife had the passion fruit flan which she said was bitter. The cheesecake was ok. This whole meal took over 2 hours, and would probably still be there if I didn’t flag down the one busboy for our check. We had one waitress who took our order, never to be seen again at our table until she asked if we wanted more wine when we were waiting for our check. The poor woman bringing out the courses had no clue who had what… felt bad for her. The original waitress never once checked in with us. I would expect a thin steak covered in cheese sauce at Applebees, not for $75 a person. Total bill for two with each having a class of wine was $183 before tip. They advertised this as a “romantic setting complete with soft candlelight to set the perfect mood”. Think cafeteria style lighting with no candles anywhere. No romance whatsoever. This would be a disaster of a first date.
Never again shall we dine there. Oh, and the parking lot….
The horror, the horror.

We live nearby but had never tried it. It’s cozy inside, and our server was super friendly. We had the NY strip steak and the chicken alfredo, and both were great, as was the blueberry mule drink.
It took longer than expected for the food to come out, even though the restaurant was quiet (midweek in winter) but that was not a problem for us. I will gladly wait a bit longer for food that tastes homemade. We will definitely go back!

Unfortunately the dining experience was deeply disappointing for our party of six at Water's Edge on Sunday, 12/16. Unfortunately, it was our first visit, and it fell far below the standards expected of a fine dining establishment.
While the food was tasty, the handling of our entrees overshadowed any enjoyment. One entree was forgotten, causing an unacceptable delay of over 20 minutes. Despite multiple reminders, the staff failed to address the issue promptly. Instead of taking responsibility, our server unprofessionally blamed the kitchen and repeatedly insisted it wasn't her fault. Additionally, another steak ordered rare arrived well done and had to be sent back.
Service was inattentive and unprofessional. Restaurants run out of things, it happens; the server should inform the customers of unavailable items prior to taking an order (in our case ran out prior to Sunday PM dinner service starting – not in real time). Multiple hairs were found in our cocktails and on side plates. Our server refused to take starter and entree orders together, citing needing to stagger kitchen timing, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. Additionally, a 20% automatic gratuity was added (fine for a large party) but led to inadvertently tipping WELL over 20% due to the handheld credit card machine defaulting to add 7-15% additional tip in a non-obvious way.
The staff seemed overwhelmed and uncoordinated. The manager's apology was undermined by minimal compensation—$19 off a bill exceeding $300. Such lapses in service are disappointing and reflect poorly on the restaurant's reputation. As locals to Midcoast Maine, it's disheartening to think we need to warn others against trying Water's Edge or any affiliated properties based on this experience.

Ate at their Thanksgiving buffet. Cold rainy day but the service was pleasant. Came towards the end of the day, not much food left. The stuffing was nothing special but all the rest of the items were delicious

My wife and I stopped by for a break while driving. We ordered the spinach dip and it was wonderful! The artichokes were very tender. We both ordered salad and soup. They had 2 guys playing guitar. Great experience!

Good food, not great. We've had better at more than a few other restaurants. We are local people and we love good food and like to try new places. I want something I can't make as well at home and am willing to pay for it. Please don't serve me mediocre and charge me higher end food prices. We had
a ginger mule cocktail, French onion soup, lasagna, and bolognese. The bolognese was like spaghetti and sauce with ground beef, no better, a little too on the sweet side, and just not a good bolognese. The lasagna was good. It did not come with the vegetable medley listed on the menu. A small side salad would have been better and we were going to order a salad but didn't since it was supposed to come with a vegetable. A couple of quite small pieces of garlic bread were served with it. Good service, not great. When the waiter returned to take our dessert order, he apologized for what he thought was a delay and told us he was taking care of a bloody nose. Okay! We decided not to order dessert anyway. They just seemed like they were probably pre-made, frozen, food service desserts. I see good reviews and the place had a fair amount of people. It was nice to try a new place but once was enough for what we were served for 96.00 plus tip.
