Just passing thru & we wanted breakfast & saw this had good reviews & was on our route. I wanted the stereotypical American breakfast but saw it was in a strip mall & I was a little concerned…I quickly learned that my concern was unwarranted. Our server, Trinity, was fabulous, cheerful & very much into her job as a server at Sylvia’s Cafe. All the staff seemed happy & friendly. My meal had very generous portions, scrambled eggs prepped as I requested, taters excellent, toast large (2 slices) & sausage links (3) were all served lava hot. That is far better than some places that bring food that is lukewarm or seemingly just passed under a warning lamp. My wife got the stuffed French toast with blueberry cream cheese & it was also large & very tasty. Coffee was free with my meal though my wife stated the coffee was a little on the weak side but she likes a very strong bitter brew. While I would’ve preferred a folksy cabin-like breakfast spot the interior of this cafe was the bland cold cafeteria like place that many strip mall places seem to suffer with. It’s 10 hours after our visit & I’m still full. Good job to all the folks at Sylvia’s Cafe!

Tired of frozen potatoes served up as acceptable fare, we found this place does the hard work of real cooking. The hash browns were fresh, and while we ate we saw two different employees carry in heavy sacks of real potatoes to process. The omelettes were great and service also. Crowded and noisy, but great food!

On a road trip since August 30th last. Driving from Bar Harbor to Bangor and stopped at this eatery for a late breakfast. Did not disappoint, best we had on this road trip and very fairly priced. Super friendly staff too 💯👍.
This is a great place to eat. The quality of the food was so good and the just was exceptional. It was busy, but worth it.

Super busy for a Saturday morning breakfast. Line out the door. Typical diner breakfast food. We opted to sit at the counter vs. waiting for a table. Service was slow due to how busy they were. Fun to watch how the do all the cooking. If you don't know where this place is at, you will drive right by it.
