20 years ago we came to the area on our honeymoon, and Union River Lobster Pot was the first restaurant at which we both had ever tried lobster. This year we came back, and we had our last dinner here. After a 45 minute wait on the back lawn (a summer Saturday evening, after all) we were seated. My husband had the Lazy Lobster and it was excellent. I had the Lobster Pie, and as I told our stellar waitress, it was the best thing I'd ever eaten. Hoping we can come back in another 20!

This is a very good abs very busy restaurant. Expect to wait, but it's worth it.

Not a fan of lobster, but the crab cakes and the haddock chowder were excellent. Great atmosphere to watch the lobster pound and boiling out front.

We waited over an hour for seats here and wish they took reservations because that would have made our day go by so much faster.

The food was good, however I got the street corn and it looked nothing like the banner they had on their website. The description said there would be bell pepper and onion but I couldnt see either and I wasn't even sure if there was feta either. The salad I ordered also took awhile to come out.

The cheese curds were amazing though. I dont have high hopes for anything outside of Wisconsin but these exceeded my expectations.

We also got the lobster. Its just as good, if not better than most of the lobster places around. Price wise 2 1/4 lobster for $44 is great. The muscles and claws were cooked well, and not rubbery in any way. The lobster stew had a lot of lobster however the stew (broth) was not creamy and more on the watery side.

Food came out quickly and the staff was very kind.

Closing night for the season. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and our server Dennis was great!!

Called and asked about securing a table. Told by phone by male that the wait time was an hour and a half and that we should come at the tail end of that time, no comment regarding a stop time for taking new diners. Came to the restaurant at 1950 (closing listed as 2030) and was told by the short blonde hostess that the waitlist was full and they could not accommodate us. Additionally, told by hostess that it wasn’t her problem we came late and that that she don’t care because they are closing for the season in a few days. In person date was 10/12/2025. Didn’t get to try the food, recommend avoiding based on above service issues as above. Went home hungry, great way to end a vacation. Thank you.

So good!! Worth the wait!! Our party of six arrived and we waited about 80 minutes to be seated, but it was so worth it! Everyone enjoyed their food, drinks, and the blueberry pie was AMAZING!! I don’t like pie, but I loved theirs!! It was so good, a member of our group had to get a piece to go. This was our favorite restaurant during our trip to Acadia. Staff was attentive, friendly, and checked on us at all the right times.

We had a fabulous dinner in our first night in Maine. We joined the wait-list (which was an hour) checked into our Airbnb and came back. We had time to look at how the lobsters are cooked outside. I got a cup of the New England clam chowder and it was delicious. I had a small lobster and my husband has the crab pot. We had the blueberry pie for dessert. Our meal was delicious and the service was great. We're so happy we made it before they closed for the season.

Stellar staff and amazing food! Everyone was hard at work and our waitress was very friendly. She played along with our jokes. The Blueberry pie was on point and the Cedar Planked salmon was the best I've ever had! The wait time was well worth it. We will definitely be back our next trip to the area.

Great lobster! Probably the best in my life. Great chowder. A bit of a wait but it was worth it. Very good quality for the price.

Be prepared for a wait. Took us an hour to get seated and the hours are so short that our server was rushing us out the door by asking us if we wanted dessert as soon as we got our entrees and taking away our food before we were done eating it. Aside from the really terrible redhead server we had, the food was okay. The lobster, mussels, clams, and crab cakes were good. The steak and slaw were bland. The outdoor area was nice but I'm not sure why they don't make more use of it. Overall, it's a good value for the food but I'd pass if there were other options to eat in town.

It’s all around a great experience to eat here. Cozy on the inside, beautiful views from the outside and delicious food! Their blueberry pie was a home run!

This place looks fun. We went to place a carryout order for our family (from out of town) and learned they do not allow carry out. We did not see any indication of that on the Web site while we pored over the lovely menu at great length - so recommend making that more prominent.
