I used to be such a huge fan of Meridiens. The meals were out of this world - I had the best meal eating out I’ve ever had at this establishment. I liked it so much that I worked there a year ago but left because I didn’t like how the staff was treated. Today my husband and I went with an open mind. We got 3 drinks and 2 “meals” which were beyond lackluster. Our bill was $92. We asked a few times for the owner to come over and say hi, which he never did. Overall Meridiens was sadly a big letdown; I wanted to be enchanted like I used to be but unfortunately it just wasn’t that way. If you’re looking for great food and experience, I’d suggest either OPA or 18 Below.

The Seafood “Board” was good but my husbands steak board was tough. Very pricy for what you get. We miss the old menu. It used to be our favorite place. I’m not saying they need to completely get rid of the Tapa idea, but bring back the tacos and a few other options.

This restaurant has the most delectable food. We ordered a few things and almost everything was a culinary experience. Not only that but the staff are just the most wonderful people. Our server was an absolute gem and made some amazing recommendations for our table. The owner came and chatted with us and our kids at the end of the night, and gave us a tour.
I can’t recommend this place highly enough. If we are ever back in the area we will most definitely come back. Thank you Meridians staff for a wonderful evening,

Kid-friendliness: There isn’t a kids menu and the food and vibe is more for adults. We came with three small kids so we’re unsure if we should leave, but the staff made our kids feel so welcome and adapted the menu for our children. It was a delightful experience for them (and us!)

Really glad that they reopened! The store and the restaurant now share the same location, and while the menu changed, the food and cocktails are all really good. We will definitely go back often!

We dined here tonight for a birthday dinner 1/6/24. Big and beautiful dining area with a nice wood/copper custom hand done feel, farm to table fresh food, well lit without being too dark or over bearing, larger wine menu, attentive and polite service, GF labeled appetizers, entrees, and drinks on the menu.I hate to see a bad review comparing an establishment such as this to frozen pizzas that are reheated. For what I consider a carefully done jab at “local fine dining” with competitive local pricing, I have nothing but positive things to say. I’m a bigger guy who can put away a lot of food. After sharing the Deviled Duck Eggs and Poutine entrees with my girlfriend, I cleaned my entree plate (waygu strip loin, parsnip puree, and garlic braise kale), and I was too full to order desert. Needless to say we will be back!

We loved this place. Absolutely the best food we had during our stay in Maine. A lot of places claim "farm to table," but this is the first place where I got the impression that the vegetables hadn't really come to terms with the fact that they had been picked when they were being served to me, cooked to perfection and tasting delicious. The menu is built around small plates, and my partner and I had an easy and pleasant time choosing a multi-course meal to share. Service was attentive, but relaxed and friendly.I didn't get a chance to try the cocktails, so next time, I'll be ready for them. The wine list was as varied and interesting as the food. The rosé on offer by the glass was significantly better than average, but at an average price, and paired well with my meal. The owner was very helpful in suggesting a digestif, which was a perfect end to a memorable dinner. We look forward to an opportunity to return.

This place was a delight. Farm to table theme in a rustic historic building. We ordered a variety of items to share. The street tacos were phenomenal! Really surprised by the creative menu and talent of the chef. Service was thorough and engaging. This is a great find.

It by far was one of the best dining experiences I had this visit to Maine. Everything tasted so fresh. Food was creative and delicious. The menu is creative smart and very reasonable for the quality. Everything that came to our table was delicious. Our server Christine was amazing. The owner David came over sat down poured some amazing Amaro to finish off a perfect evening. Worth traveling to eat here. On a scale of 1 to 5 I give it a 10.

This evening (9/13/23) was our third experience with the “small plate” aka tapas menu, which I applaud when it all comes together. Unfortunately, at Meridians, (a former fav) the new menu/ new chef are in a downward spiral. We feel as though the previous chef was exceptional, with well balanced menus for discriminating tastes, exquisite presentation, and yes, phenomenal food. The transition to whatever is going on there now must be somewhat painful for the owners. Food and service quality have markedly declined. I am shocked to the degree of the decline. I want Meridians to continue on its previous road to success, but there are too many red flags.Sincerely,Clark MillerBenton, ME.
