We travel to this part of Maine every year from Arizona to escape the heat. We love trying different restaurants, and we were intrigued by the menu choices here. It is not a very large place, but it sure is friendly, cozy, and delicious! The food looked and tasted amazing! We also got to sit on the ledge overlooking the river, and it was a beautiful view. The service was outstanding; the waitress was very thorough with her descriptions from their diverse menu. On our visit, we had the barbacoa beef roll and the Steak and Cheese sandwich. Both were amazing, and we paired them with the coleslaw and the street corn salad which were also excellent. There are so many great things to try on our next visit!

We stopped here on a road trip through Maine. It was a great place! We sat with our dogs on the patio and looked out at the river. The crunchy salad was great, real crisp and fresh, with tasty sweet chili dressing. The service was fairly fast, even though it seemed like there was just one person taking care of all the tables (it’s a pretty small place.) There was a real nice, friendly atmosphere and a lovely view!

We were on our way to bring our daughter to Camp Maine Woods in Bethel. We decided to stop at the river jack tavern for lunch as it was right off I95. The service was beyond amazing! We enjoyed the meat, cheese and vegetable boards, a glass of Malbec and a few local brews. We also enjoyed the state fair sausage basket!! The view from the patio was also incredible. A definite must stop again spot!

Our waitress made the experience- she was on alone, covering the whole shebang. And with a smile and fantastic attitude. We were late and she made sure we got in our orders and that everything went smoothly. I hate that I didn't get her name because she deserves the recognition. Kitchen staff killed it on the meals as well!

We came in for an early-ish dinner. When we walked in, we were greeted by Shelly. She was slammed with a lot of people but we were more than happy to wait. Even super busy and the only waitress she was attentive and happy. Our food was fantastic! Some of the BEST steak tips I've ever had. Can't wait to come back. The atmosphere is laid back and very friendly.

On our way home from Greenville we needed lunch. Looking at lunch options I found this small little tavern and decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did! The drinks were beautifully balanced the service was bar none and the food…unbelievable. We were lucky enough to get there on brunch day and wow! If you are ever in Fairfield, Maine go there.
Our server Marian was great! The food was delicious. What a great spot!

A little place that’s not too far away This little place has only 21 seats inside and about 10-15 seats outside that overlook the Kennebec river Inside is very quaint and clean the food was excellent and very reasonably priced And they also have a great drink menu There’s only one waitress and she was very attentive and on top of everything and every table

The food here was surprisingly good! The burger and chicken cheese steak sandwiches were SO GOOD as were the drinks! The atmosphere is really cozy and it’s very clean inside. Shelley was a riot too, kept us entertained throughout our meal. A great stop on the way to Acadia, will definitely be back!!
