The Vault restaurant is located in an old bank on Main St in Houlton,Maine. I made reservations five days in advance so we could get the only table inside the actual vault...SOOOO COOOL!!!! And quite! The food was absolutely wonderful, offering Fish, Latino, Thai, Steak... My fish dish melted in my mouth. My partner ordered Pad Thai, which wasn't too sweet and with thinner noodles and additions made it better than most I've tried in other places. The Merlot was perfect. The waitress checked in with us at just the right intervals.

Our reservation was promptly honored, and we were greeted with a beautifully set table, complete with an elegant touch—a fresh rose adding to the ambiance.
We began with the spinach bacon artichoke dip, a perfect start that was both rich and savory. The combination of flavors was expertly balanced, and the dip was served piping hot, accompanied by crispy tortilla chips. The light crunch of the chips paired beautifully with the creamy, flavorful dip, making it an appetizer that set the tone for the culinary indulgence to come.
For our main course, we chose the chicken pad Thai and the pear-ginger glazed salmon. The pad Thai was an exceptional blend of authentic flavors—tender chicken, perfectly cooked noodles, and a subtle hint of spice. It was evident that care was taken to craft each element of this dish. The salmon was a true highlight of the evening, cooked to perfection with a delicate glaze that brought out the natural sweetness of the fish. I am from Ohio and found myself and family hungry and after traveling all day saw The Vault went in to the tastiest food we have had so far on our trip...I had Baja chicken plate which was out of this world....very pleasant waitress who was knowledgeable on all the items on the menu.....service was fairly quick....
my family really enjoyed their meals in this comfortable environment

I would recommend this restaurant but ….Make sure you have a reservation, got there after 7 pm and there were 3 groups there. A table for 4 had 2 and the vault had people. We were 4 adults and a baby, 2 tables for 2 were empty, waited for 10-15 minutes before someone came over and asked if we had a reservation, we said no and she said she had nothing….we can’t serve you without a reservation.
I can’t change recommendation as it won’t allow me to …..it is a good place to get a higher end meal
