It was highly recommended and I was highly disappointed. It felt like a new restaurant that was missing on all the little things (stew served, but I had to ask for a spoon; dish for mussel shells was s small the shells wouldn't fit in it; very good mains, but side veggies were rubbery). To top it off, the outside door was propped open, so every time someone came in or left, a draft blew across our table to the point it blew our candle out three times. Overrated on all fronts.

Not sure why this place only has 4.4 stars — my husband and I went tonight with our toddler and it was absolutely delicious! The bread and butter are a must. We also tried the butternut squash pasta and the haddock dinner.. both were amazing! For dessert we got the butterscotch pudding and they perfected the salty/sweet combo. We live in Texas and are sad this isn’t local to us! The service was also great!

The house-made gnocchi with lemon-garlic buerre blanc sauce topped with butter-poached lobster was one of the most delicious entrees I have ever eaten, and that’s saying a lot!

Brought visiting family to 50 Local and it was embarrassing. We had a reservation but were seated at a small table with a chair in the aisle. We were rushed by our server. The fish and chips was mostly undercooked batter and the ramen with chicken had one small piece of chicken. Waiter forgot utensils and did not come back to check in us. We won’t be back.

50 Local is exactly what I hoped to find in Kennebunkport—excellent food with a warm, local feel. I had the bolognese (after smelling it at the bar and changing my order), plus a Caesar salad and a couple Maine beers. Everything was delicious, comforting, and clearly made with care. Sitting at the bar with locals made the experience even better. my only disappointment was that it was too dark to actually read the menu. It wasn’t much light in the room. Definitely a must-visit, and I’ll be back next time I’m in.

We love and frequent 50 Local! Tamika and kaysha are usually our servers and we cannot say enough wonderful things about them both! Food and drinks are always creative and fresh.
Highly recommend!

All of pasta dishes were extremely salty. Salt does not replace flavor.

Great food, atmosphere and service. Was extremely disappointed that they don’t serve coffee after dinner with dessert. No expresso or coffee… said they don’t do that???? Probably won’t go back again as much as I liked the e food and local aspect.

We celebrated my Dad’s 97th birthday here on August 4. What a wonderful evening! The food was excellent and the atmosphere perfect. Our server was great and didn’t rush us through the meal. We all really enjoyed ourselves and will be back.

Great spot with elevated, delicious food and a welcoming, lively atmosphere. A little loud and difficult to hear one another across the table, but otherwise a fun vibe. Lots of yummy options for drinks and food. Very reasonably priced for what you get. Large portions!

This is one of our favorite spots. Heather is a great manager and personality . We sat at the bar where Mathew waited on us and made some awesome tomolive martinis . We had the Caesar salad and two pasta dishes the Bucatini and the Tagliatelle! Everything wax amazing as always . If you are sitting at a table ask for Dylan a great waiter !

So great! Couldn’t have asked for a better dinner. Heather (operations manager) Dillon (waiter) were very hospitable. We started with cocktails, dirty martinis with blue cheese olives, the house bread was also yummy. Then for appetizers we got the egg salad, very innovative with the crispy egg and oysters. For entrees, we got the burger, lobster gnocchi and halibut — everyone loved their dishes, so flavorful! Last, we finished with the beignets, the dessert sauce trio was amazing, make sure you save extra room for dessert. We’ll be back!

50 Local was great. The rigatoni was spot on - rich and perfectly cooked. Bread was awesome. Loved the aperitif options - some unexpected picks. Our waiter had great timing, checking in and clearing plates without hovering. Solid all around.
