Mekhong Thai never disappoints! Hands down the best Thai food in the area - their green curry, thai fried rice, spring rolls and chicken satay are standouts but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Delicious as always!

A lot has been said about the demise of Mekhong Thai since the new ownership took over recently. I am here to let the locals know that the rumors are not true and the food is as authentic and delicious as ever. We got the pad thai, fried rice, green curry and a wide array of appetizers - all were spectacular. When in need of a switch up from local Maine fair, Mekhong never disappoints and offers generous portions at a great price point.

Respectfully, listing all the things you've done over the years is not a great response to a customer telling you the food they've enjoyed for years is not as good as it was before the change. I'm not the only person to express this opinion. Maybe try and find out what the problem is rather than listing your credentials, which does nothing to change my 2 bad experiences with takeout since you have taken over this establishment. Yes, the service is great, the staff are friendly, the menu and atmosphere is revamped - great - but I go there for the food - and it is not the same.

Fantastic, authentic food with great presentation. Everyone was super nice, the restaurant is spotless. Some of the best Thai food I've had in a while :) Definitely more reflective of traditional Thai cuisine, so if you're used to more Americanized Thai, it might seem a bit different.
This was my go to for Tai food. I do not get it too often as my husband doesn’t like Tai food. But for years have gone to Mekong Thai in Kennebunk. Today was my Birthday so I decided to order take out for myself. The food was awful. I had the appetizer sampler & the Mekong Tai rice. The rice was OK but the chunks of meat in it were huge & hard. The appetizers must have been leftover from lunch as they were hard & seemed like they had been around for sometime. Very disappointing. Plus just those two items came to over $42.00. Very pricey for what it was. I don’t usually review places but feel they need to either change what they are doing or people need to know before they go there. As I said in the past it was always my favorite restaurant for Tai food but I won’t be going back after tonight’s dinner.

Had a great meal with a family of 6, including 2 kids. The dishes were all flavorful, leaning more towards sweet than salty. All the adults loved their dishes (Pad Thai, Thai Fried Rice, Broccoli Stir Fry) and the kids loved picking from our plates. The service was sometimes slow, but the servers were all very nice. Not sure about the recent low reviews, I’ve had Thai food all over the world, and this is definitely in the top 20% I’ve had.

We were concerned by the recent poor reviews. We’ve enjoyed eating here for 20+ years, so we were nervous after the stories about the post-management change quality. As it turns out, we had nothing to worry about. Wings are not our idea of Thai food, so we can’t speak to that, but the Pad Thai and chicken green curry, though very slightly different (the curry sauce was thicker), were just as delicious as we were accustomed to. The Satay was a bit dry, but it’s always been a little hit or miss over the years. For us there’s no loss of quality.
