My family and I have been loyal customers for my whole life… and after our visit tonight it is sad to say it is the end of an era. What used to be consistent and always delicious is nothing close to what is use to be under new ownership and management.
The spring rolls that were once fresh, huge, and packed to the brim are now clearly frozen and just sad. The Pad See Ew was mostly oil, and lacked the flavor it once had. The birds nest… which wasn’t even a birds nest, was saddening the second it was served. The egg noodles which once were severed resembling a bird nest are now just fried wontons piled on top of the sauce and protein.
My mother and I left extremely disappointed knowing we will never be back to Mekong as we knew it… truly sad and a disappointment.

My family and I have been eating at Mekhong Thai Kennebunk since 1992. due to the nature of my employment, I have had the opportunity to not only taste the cuisines of Thai restaurants across the United States, but I’ve also had the pleasure of eating at Thai restaurants across Thailand. In my hundreds of dining adventures, there is no restaurant comparable to my Mekhong Thai Kennebunk. The staff are warm and friendly and the food is impeccable. I checked, and the new owners are actually family of the previous owners. The menu has been relatively unchanged, and I actually feel it has been improved. Thank you, Mekhong Thai for keeping the things the same and always being there for us with your warm smiles and wonderful food. My kids and grandkids are now becoming your dedicated customers.

Best Thai food place hands down. Everything is so fresh and tasty, cooked to order. They use quality ingredients in the dishes. Their Crab Rangoons are the best i ever tasted. Small dine in area creates an intimate atmosphere for a lovely experience. The new menu is optimized and is wonderful. I appreciated the recommendations from the gentleman waiting tables. The dish was perfect and was just what I was in the mood for.

Not bad. I had takeout. The assorted appetizer was not crispy due to no openings to keep out the steam. Even so the crab rangoon was the best crab rangoon I've ever had. The filling was superior to any others I've had. Zi also had an order of pan fried rice noodle. Very good but no spice at all. Would I eat here again?,yes I would try other items.
Arriving in town and searching for a quick meal on my first night, I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant, and it completely exceeded my expectations. I didn’t anticipate much, but the Drunken Noodles were by far the best I’ve had in the U.S. Even though I’m only here for a few days, I’m already planning a return visit. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. I can’t wait to come back!

Small dining area, amazing food and service. Drunken noodles, satay, Tom yum, noodle soup - all excellent meals. We didn't finish the large plates, and the staff added extra sprouts for the take home so that they would be fresh and crispy when we reheated. Amazing service.
