Excellent food, great service, nice ambiance! Definitely recommend and definitely will be back!
The food was outstanding, and our server Andrew was great! We even had the privilege of sitting next to a sweet dog on the patio!! The hostess asked us if we minded a dog near us, and we are very dog friendly, so it was a nice surprise for us. My husband and I were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary and we were given a bubbling rose for a celebration toast!! We had a lovely experience here and will absolutely be back!
First time at the new location; have dined at the old location several times. Food was good as always, although would welcome 1-2 additional entree options. The big issue was timing: waited 10 mins just to be able to check in, drinks arrived late and not together (maybe 20 mins between my dad getting his and mine arriving), just... everything took forever. 1.5 hours+ before we got our entrees. Server tried to take my drink before I was done with it— then she took my entree when my head was turned and I had wanted to bring the rest home. We just didn't have time to stay for dessert which was a pity as we were celebrating 2 birthdays (which we did not note on the reservation). We love Chez Rosa and will try again but I'm worried the new location is too big for the scale of the kitchen and the staff.
Chez Rosa always delivers excellent food, attentive service and fun wines. The new location is much better with multiple dining room options (including a covered outdoor patio) and great parking. Highly recommend!
I will give them a little break for just moving. The location is very nice, and the staff was great to deal with, but the food was lacking in variety, and quite a bit in flavor. We started off with the French Onion Soup (One of the best dishes we had) and the Petite Assiette (Cheese & they worked with us to switch to a different meat they were running, so flexible) and a few Oysters (decent but not great.) For dinner we had the Spaghetti (It was ok, but lacking a lot of flavor, and smelled SUPER fishy) Bucatini (This had good noodles with a sauce that tasted like watered down Chef Boyardee) Steak Frites (Flat iron it was one of the best meals we had, but the meat was missing a bit of meaty flavor) and the Roasted chicken (Flavor was good.) For Desert we had the Chocolate pot de creme. The flavor was pretty good, but the container they used made it hard to get out the last few bites. Overall, for having a limited menu, I really expected a better taste experience. I hope they can pull it together and add the flavor back in to the French food.
LOVED our experience dining at Chez Rosa for a winter getaway. We ate at the bar and the staff was lovely. They had great recommendations and really made us feel welcome and excited for our meal. The beef bourguignion was the perfect winter dish, and I really enjoyed the parisienne gnocchi as well. The cocktails were excellent and the atmosphere was perfect - the right blend of warm and romantic & exactly what you're looking for on a chilly winter's night.

The fondu was SO delicious! However, I would have preferred more bread with vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower and asparagus instead of grapes, granny smith apples and potatoes. My husband ordered the beef Bourguignon which was AMAZING! So flavorful. I was jealous and wished I had ordered what he had. I ordered the gnocchi which was ok. It would have been better with the Bourguignon sauce. Will definitely go back for the fondu and beef. Next time will tell them more bread and no fruit

Scallops were so salty I could not eat them. No remedy was offered. Dessert not offered. $19 glass of wine not that good. Onion soup was watery/bland. Pate was pretty good.

A sensational evening. The host, Amy our server, the food, the ambience, the whole experience is off the charts impressive.
If you haven't been here let me tell you in no uncertain terms get you derrière here sooner than later & enjoy this French Bistro.
Tonight I wanted a1/2 dozen oysters with a wine mignonette unfortunately they were all sold out.
Do I order french onion soup or do I just jump in & go with The steak frites? or should I have the day boat scallops?
I'll tell you I'm having a very hard time deciding on what entree I will have. What do i do???
Ok I've decided I'll have the French onion soup & steak frites. I'm stuffed I have to take home 1/2 my dinner. Not a bad thing to enjoy some steak tomorrow morning. No room for dessert but the deserts sounded wonderful.
Oops all my pictures somehow disappeared. I can tell you they were great pictures of all our food & the menus.

We reserved a reservation for our final honeymoon dinner in Kennebunkport on Thursday 10/24 at 1930. We were seated promptly and had a great waiter. The food was delicious.
But, when we reserved the table, I specified that it was our honeymoon and there was nothing special noted. But we noticed the table next to us had a little congratulations sign. Also, the young lady who delivered our food to the table was either having a bad night or shouldn't have been directly involved with customers that night. The way she plopped the food on the table, pushing the side plates nearly into our laps was unacceptable.
It's the smallest of details but those are what were important to me that night. Overall, I'd give it another try. The fish wellington and the lobster vol au vent were very good.
I've since edited my review after receiving a generic response and no sense of ownership.

Good food and good atmosphere but disappointing portion sizes for the price. $36 for 4 scallops is a bit excessive. Very tasty though!

Everything is great here, start to finish. The service is wonderful, drinks delicious, and every ingredient is a treat. As vegetarians in Maine, we so appreciate the wonderful dishes that are not bleak add-ons like we see on most menus.
Vegetarian options: The gnocchi and the risotto are incredible - great to try as they change the seasonal ingredients. Salads are fresh and creative and yummy.
