Lots of good energy, even on a raining Sunday evening. Unfortunately, there was hiccup after hiccup. 1. Ordered a glass of prosecco…first two glasses they brought out had zero fizz and were flat/old. Third time finally got a fresh glass of prosecco. 2. We ordered two bowls of clam chowder, but the server only brought one. They didn’t bring the second bowl out until after the entrees! 3. For our entrees, there were two orders of the lobster roll. Again, they only brought one order. The second order didn’t come out until after everyone else was finished with their dinner entrees. 4. Ordered a manhattan on the rocks. They brought out a drink in a martini glass, no ice. Frustrating. These snafus didn’t ruin our night, but were annoying and avoidable. It was disappointing because we’ve had many great experiences at this place. AND, they weren’t nearly as busy as we’ve seen them in previous summers. Bummer, as it was our first night in town this season.

Good food, great setting, but service is terrible. It was clear the the staff didn’t want to be there. They even put my entree on top of my appetizer plate instead of clearing the table. Everyone was rude except the hostess.

Lobster fried rice not good lobster tasteless and dry. Clam chowder had almost no clams and lacked flavor. Crab cakes were good. For the price anywhere else would be better.

I had high hopes for this place because the food was genuinely great—fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the experience was soured by the manager’s behavior. She was yelling at staff loudly and unprofessionally, and even raised her voice at the door in front of customers. It made the atmosphere tense and uncomfortable.

Great food should be paired with respectful and professional service. I hope the management takes this seriously and improves their approach—both for the staff’s sake and the customers’.

My girlfriend and I made a trip to Kennebunkport and had made a reservation at the Boathouse restaurant before arriving. What a great experience. We got our own private seating in the individual boathouses outside. Quiet, warm, and a wonderful dining experience. The food exceeded our expectations tremendously. Our server was so welcoming and had excellent hospitality. This restaurant is a 10 out of 10. We will be back in the future.

We had a fantastic experience sitting in our own lighthouse on their deck. Brooklyn was our server and she is amazing and very fun. It was extremely windy and cold out but she had a smile on her face every time she came outside, whether it was to take pictures for us, take our order, bring our drinks and food or ask if all was good. The food and drinks were wonderful and we will be back again when it's warmer to enjoy their amazing service and view outside on their deck.

We have been to The Boathouse Restaurant many times. This visit we decided to try to reserve one of their outdoor Lighthouse buildings for dinner. It was SO worth it! We started inside with a drink at the bar... I had the “Grow A Pear” (kind of a pear martini) and my husband had a classic Dirty Martini. Both were made perfectly and were delicious! Then we were seated outside in our private Lighthouse. It was truly beautiful, decorated outside with white lights and greens, and very rustic, warm and cozy inside. Blankets and pillows were provided but it was plenty warm without them. Eric, our waiter, had a great personality and was very friendly. Our appetizer was the Meat and Cheese board and we found it to be creative and delicious. Our dinners(the Chinese Sausage Fried Rice and Crab Cakes) were both outstanding... every bite was delicious! As always, we were very happy with our experience here and will be back soon. Don't miss visiting here while in KBPT!!

Magical winter dining experience in the the adorable 'lighthouses' at the Boathouse restaurant. Beautifully decorated and appointed - cushy pillows, low lighting, and warm blankets. We had a wonderful meal. Only suggestion would be to move the heat from the ceiling to the floor. I know this could be difficult but although our bodies were cozy, our feet were very cold. Plus warm air rises so having heat originate on the floor would make sense. Despite the cold, it was a REALLY great experience.

My sisters and I recently enjoyed lunch in one of the Boathouse's little outdoor lighthouse shacks. From our warm cider cocktails (which were not on the menu, but made to order at the request of our server) to our delicious entrees and the quaint atmosphere of the private wooden shack, everything was top-notch! It was hard to decide what to order because the menu at the Boathouse is pretty extensive and so many items appealed to us. We started with the roasted brussels sprouts, which were some of the best we'd had anywhere. Two of us ordered the baked haddock casserole, the other a salmon entree. All served hot and full of flavor. Other menu items I've enjoyed on previous visits include the fried haddock sandwich, their burger, the poke tuna bowl and the steak and noodle salad. Fries at the Boathouse are worth ordering - I'm assuming they're handcut, not frozen, because they always taste fresh and delicious. Visiting the Boathouse's Lighthouse Village should definitely be on your agenda if you're spending some time in Kennebunkport in the winter. In addition to the cozy atmostphere, wonderful food and service, the photo opps ABOUND (especially on a bright, sunny day) and the sounds of a flock of ducks paddling by in the river may add even more Maine charm to your experience. Make sure you're dressed warmly, especially with warm footwear and a coat you may like to sit on, as the shacks are heated from above and the floor and seats can feel a bit chilly!

We ate in one of the little houses they have for the winter. It was very cozy and warm enough for us, but we did dress warm for the occasion. The food was delicious and will definitely be going back.

My two friends and I ate lunch in the little lighthouse. It was so adorable. The waitress was top-notch, as was the food. The service was excellent. It was about 25 degrees outside. There was an overhead heater to keep us warm. One suggestion for the restaurant would be to put space heaters under the benches, as our feet did get a bit cold. (Perhaps the Fire Department does not allow this?) I suggest bringing your blanket for the same reason. Overall, I highly recommend The Lighthouse Village at the Boathouse Restaurant. It was a great experience.
