My wife & I are locals and we usually dine at the Burleigh 3 or 4 times a year. We enjoy it especially in the winter when a quiet, romantic atmosphere prevails in that large room with a fireplace. Well, last night was everything but, ....We ended sitting up next to a large table with unruly and loud young kids. The service was unusually slow, despite the fact that the restaurant was about 2/3 empty, and the food, not up to standards. I selected a steak frites at $39 and the meat was a disaster...I would recommend the hotel management to ensure they serve high quality meat for that price when they charge for 2 people, $580.17 to $714.07!

The crab dip was excellent along with the House made potato chips. It came out very hot so you need to let it cool down first.

Everything was great! Had the Goat Cheese, Crab Dip, Stuffed Haddock, and Caesar with Lobster. Spent about an hour and a half there, wasn't rushed, had a great time!

Very poor experience. Sat in 4 top at bar even though requested standard seating. Took over an hour to get appetizer. Were told entrees were being plated yet took another 150 to come out. Then when they finally came my wife's truffle who has a seafood allergy and specifically said no lobster had lobster in her truffle Mac n cheese. By the time her entree in correct fashion came out it was so late we had to get it to go. Very amateur and below standard we have experienced in many other Kennebunkport restaurants.

Another excellent dinner at the Burleigh. Great food in a nice room, with a friendly and welcoming staff. The slightly lemony Caesar dressing is lovely, and the stuffed halibut was, as always, excellent. The salmon sat on a very tasty bed of quinoa. The chef's sauces are flavorful but not overwhelming, so the flavor of the fresh ingredients is enhanced, not replaced. Which, of course, is the main reason we keep coming back.

We made a reservation and called ahead for a specific request to celebrate a special occasion - the first night of our honeymoon - and the staff did not set up our table according to our conversation over the phone and our reservation was removed entirely. Staff was passive aggressive and did the bare minimum to accommodate for the oversight. Food was good but would not recommend to anyone trying to celebrate a special occasion. Disappointing.
Excessive wait for food. Two entrees finally arrived warm — two entrees were stone cold. No point in sending anything back as it took over an hour for the food to arrive in the first place. Waitress was very engaging and efficient. Food did not match expectations based on past reviews. See no reason to return.
