We shared a wonderful meal in their patio space. Delicious appetizers and perfectly cooked steaks. Our server Gina was super helpful with our many questions. We will absolutely be back when we’re back in town next year. If you’re thinking of trying this place out, you won’t be disappointed!

We were thankful for the thoughtfulness and kindness of the staff on our anniversary. My husband’s steak was great! The bread was a delight.
However my lamb kebab was so dry I had to practically saw through it.

Food is great, but manager Nathan is not the kind of guy you want to be greeted by. Rude and unlikeable.

Our experience at The Lost Fire was disappointing from start to finish. The night began with the restaurant running out of the tuna special and substituting swordfish that was rubbery and flavorless — more like a microwaved freezer meal than something touched by fire. Honestly, the “fire” was lost.
Service-wise, our waitress Kris was kind and genuinely wonderful, but mistakes piled up: three appetizers forgotten, the wrong drink brought to the table, and then the bill was charged twice to the same card instead of split. Kris did her best, and her warmth made these missteps bearable — but the problems were clearly bigger than her.
The real low point was the manager, Nate. He dismissed our concerns with a macho, condescending attitude, at one point asking if we wanted him to “take the menu off the floor” rather than offering an apology. Instead of resolving anything, he made the situation worse. His idea of making it right was to comp drinks “next time we come” — except there won’t be a next time. To top it off, while they proudly told us the swordfish was comped, they still charged us $40 for salmon.
In short: Kris was great, but Nate was horrendous. Between the lackluster food, sloppy mistakes, and tone-deaf management, The Lost Fire completely missed the mark. Giving this one star only because Kris was an angel - otherwise this place was a zero.
Best steakhouse in all of Maine!

I can’t remember the servers name but she was from California was AMAZING and the food was AMAZING!!! If someone isn’t giving this place 5 stars then that because they didn’t know what they were getting into. Steak was like butter!

A La Carte is the way to go here. Avoid the “Chef Tasting” menu at all costs, not worth anywhere near the price tag. As a party of 8 we received 2 steaks, 4 chicken breast, 8 salmon nuggets, and handful of generic sides. Price tag $2000. We got two rounds of drinks, and we’re locked into a %22 tip for very poor service for the price.
Same story with the portions for apps and dessert. 8 people sharing two scoops of ice cream.
It was explained to us that parties are given more food after the group exceeds 5 people. This menu is great for parties of no more than two.
This is far from a tasting menu, and more of an expensive sampler. We’ve had better food here off of the standard a la carte.
The price is not the issue as we frequent this restaurant often with large parties. It’s the fact that we paid $2000 to share a “tasting menu” any other high end restaurant in town a tasting menu would serve each guest dining their own plate of each dish offered, not leaving them to share a meal that is fit for two people, 3 MAX.
The only reason this isn’t a 1-star is because Nate is a true hospitality professional. Ownership and the culinary team needs to rethink the decision to serve portions based on an increase of 5 people. There is a difference in a couple having an expensive date night, versus 8 grown menu coming to a steakhouse for their “best” offering. Service should also be much better.

We have dined at the Lost Fire before a few times and have always been seated inside and had amazing dining experiences. This weekend we tried Luca for a birthday dinner with friends. The atmosphere was great! Service was okay. The disappointing part was 3 of our 5 steaks came out medium well to well instead of medium rare, we felt like our server should have noticed. She asked how everything was before we cut in as we were waiting on a few sides for our party of 6. The flavor of the meat was good, just really overcooked. We understand that the food needed to be brought from inside the restaurant outside to Luca but everything seemed slightly disorganized.
Overall for the amount of money we spent and the dining experience we expected, we will need to reconsider before we return to dine at The Lost Fire.

I booked a reservation on OpenTable, provided my credit card information and assumed everything was set. Arrived at The Lost Fire...reservation was not in the system. They were booked solid and had to scramble because the outdoor service was unavailable due to an earlier rain storm. Front of the house service still accomodated us. Back of the house service was fantastic. Manager was on point. From the moment you approach the front door, you can breathe the wood fires preparing the food. Delicious and authentically prepared ceviches and steaks. Excellent selection of drinks from the bar. Excellent service. We will be visiting again!
