Such an underrated spot in the Kennebunk area! We sat at the bar and the bartenders were very friendly, the service was fast (even on a busy Saturday night), and the food was so good. It was definitely the best meal I had in the area.

Some of the best seafood we’ve had in Maine, with a cozy and beautiful ambiance. Highly recommended the seafood medley for two.

We were a group of 8. Our waiter was attentive and interactive with our group. He answered our questions and recommended some dishes. Our appetizers, meals and drinks were perfection. Everyone raved that night and the next day about how everything was so delicious and one of the best meals they've had in a long time. I love coming here for dinner and have never had a bad meal!

The food was really good. Anything that touched the Josper grill had an amazing char to it that was very tasty, but not any kind of burned flavors. The octopus, branzini and halibut were all perfectly cooked. The smoked potatoes I could eat daily, the horseradish sauce was more like a glaze, so good. My only constructive feedback would be for the bar. All the drinks were poured over a glass full of small cubes and served in either a tall or short tumbler. They were watered down because of too much ice, or not a large single cube, or no ice at all, and not on the same level as the food.

Solid food and service but what pushed the experience over the top was the presence of Tatiana. As a restaurant owner I pay attention to the staff and she was out walking the floor and assuring satisfaction, she even followed us out to take a family photo making my 83 year old parents evening. I would be glad to have her running one of my restaurants any day of the week. Chad Owner- Primal Steakhouse Las Vegas

Love our meal every time! The service is excellent and the meal nicely paced. The food is incomparable, especially the fresh seafood. This time our side of smoked potatoes with horseradish sauce was the standout treat! As a local, we loved this quiet sunset evening even more than high summer season! Thank you for a perfect evening!

Exceptional culinary experience! Unique and gastronomically creative. The service was phenomenal and a beautiful space to dine in. We were treated with elegance and are very satisfied that we followed the recommandation from our daughter and son in law and chose to spend our anniversary at Ultramar. Thank you Kristen and Bryan for treating us as royalty as well as family. We will return.

Our dinners were EXCELLENT! Started with Fried Calamari, shared a green salad, and smoked fingerling potatoes with horse radish sauce. For our entrees, we had Halibut and Branzeno fish with an olive oil Mediterranean sauce. Our cocktails were made perfectly. Our Server, superb! The ambiance was second to none! With a view of the harbor, quintessential Maine! We highly recommend Ultramar!

Ultramar was a wonderful experience. Our bartender was very knowledgeable about both wines and sauces to pair with our seafood. John the GM is a former colleague of mine from two previous restaurants and created us warmly and took great care of us. 11 out of 10, will definitely come back again!

First time there, great food and service i had asked for a window table and that's what we got. Also told them prior it was fiancé's birthday, there was a card on table and when she brought out dessert there was a candle.

We are locals, my wife & I and, we are very familiar with the history of this restaurant whose new owner happens to own another restaurant in Cape porpoise. The food is without a doubt well-prepared and its quality is indisputable but the service regrettably distract from the food. The restaurant is short on staff and the “General Manager” is someone whose leadership skills leaves very much to be desired. We had reservations, we came with an open mind...the waitress asked us if we wanted drinks, I said we will move forward with a bottle of wine. I ordered a Spanish type, familiar to me. Twenty minutes later, no wine. I stand up, walked to towards our waitress, ask for our wine. She had no idea or forgot what we had ordered. I repeat the order and remind her we were also offered bread and butter and nothing had arrived. The “general Manager” steps in, tells me “he is taking over”, tells me that if I wanted bread & butter it will set me back $4!. I remind him we already ordered it and also the wine. Shortly thereafter he brings the wine bottle. It is the wrong bottle and he has no clue what I wanted.... I rest my case.

Loved restaurant food, staff and atmosphere. Only negative was music and type of music not commensurate with atmosphere. Should be softer more chamber type not thumping dance club music.

The experience was great from the hostess that greeted us right away and had our table just as quick to the server and bar staff. All were pleasant, knew the menu and explained it very well. The meal and service was superb.
