My new favorite place! Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in and John, our host, sat us at the perfect swanky booth with the best view! Then our server, Leah, was fabulous with suggestions & service. Wonderful dining experience!

Love the new decor and bar. Warm tones throughout. Food was delicious and delivered timely. Felt a bit rushed by server who removed a plate without asking. Otherwise a very good meal and evening.

The Cape Porpoise Pier is one of our favorite town views, and Ultramar has it! The cocktails are perfect, the El Pepino is my go to, and a Manhattan with Basil Hayden dark rye, for him. The oysters and Cesar are always on my list but I tried the Branzino with asparagus too. They were both grilled on the wood fire and were light and flavorful. My husband had a steak with fries, which was out of this world , perfectly pink ! You'd expect a good steak from Lost Fire's sister, and you'll get it. The hosts, wait staff and bartender are all friendly and add to the great energy of this haven by the sea! Thank you all! We can't wait for summer!

Michael our server was excellent! He was attentive to detail, fun and paced out our courses perfectly. The drinks were great, and the seafood paella was amazing! The clam chowder was excellent as were the 3 desserts we shared. Thank you! ?

Upon arrival the parking was a challenge. Once inside Ambiance was elegant. We went for during the later hours, so there wasn't any views to enjoy. The service was great, we were just there for apps and drinks since our dinner reservations elsewhere were later. We got drinks, clam chowder, Brussels sprouts, tomato salad, and a few others. Chowder was excellent, wasn't heavy and creamy. Clams were fresh and flavorful. Brussels sprouts and cooked perfectly and wasn't a pleasant surprise for flavor. Tomato's were fresh and were a good light app. Would be interesting in trying dinner here at sometime

Loved everything about this place, and food was fantastic! Best crab cakes we ever had. Halibut & paella dishes were cooked to perfection & delicious. Beautiful presentation of the Chocolate soufflé, and it was so decedent & delightful! Cant wait to go back. A+ on the service, ambience, and new decor/vibe.

We celebrated a birthday at Ultramar. Food was awesome as was the service. This is a fairly new restaurant so it wasn't super busy, but we know it will be in the coming months.

Our first visit to Ultramar and it won't be our last. We'll have to get back before the summer folks get here. The meal was outstanding, great vibe and great atmosphere. Very comfortable seating, in a booth, looking out at the water and sunset. I actually thought it was going to be real pricey, it's pricey, but well worth it. It was the best paella I have ever eaten. Enjoy.

It is our first time dining at Ultramar but won't be the last time. The food is delicious and we got seated next to the fireplace which was super cozy. The servers were very attentive and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Ultramar is a fairly new entry in the area restaurant scene, but it's going to have no problem finding an adoring audience. The ambiance is cozy, but utterly uncramped, which is often not the norm here, where real estate is at a premium on the waterfront. A warm fire, subdued lighting, and gentle background music make this a lovely for Friday date night or a conversational dinner with friends. The food and drinks did not disappoint, with briny local oysters, a tangy ceviche, and the chef's own grilled prawns with romesco. The romesco was, itself, a surprise, with the emphasis on rough textured almonds with a backdrop of roasted red pepper, as opposed to the usual sweeter, pepper-forward preparation. My wife's filet was cooked tonthe right doneness, and the truffled butter was present but not overpowering. My halibut was perfectly portioned and prepared, served in a succotash of what tasted like fresh-shucked sweet corn, which has no reason to be found in coastal Maine in February. The Pepito cocktail was thoughtful and tasty, as were a light chocolate soufflé and a rich sticky toffee to close out the evening. Very glad we're local, because we will be here often, at least until the warm weather epicures find this gem in a couple of months.
