Had our wedding party there last night & it was just amazing. They were so accommodating and open to all the things I wanted. Working with Brad was super easy & very good to us. The food was absolutely amazing. Would recommend time and time again.

So relaxing. Great music for brunch. Excellent service. At first worried she had too many tables. She was amazing. Sorry I didn't ask her name. Both of us enjoyed our meals. A breakfast burrito w short rib and fried chicken. Maybe a little hot honey would have made it great. But really good breading!

$11 for a 12oz in-house brewed beer? Thats excessive plus the beer was average. Also, if your gonna have a grateful dead tribute band play, dim the lights a tad. The place was lit up like a classroom. Not a live music atmosphere at all.

We held our wedding rehearsal here at the blue mermaid and they did a fantastic job. The menu was super easy to pick and we were able to add on a few extras. Brad and Scott were great to work with and very patient with all of our questions. We got so many compliments from our guests on the food. They were also very helpful with labeling all of our food allergies for our guests. The staff were all extremely kind and super helpful. Highly recommend for hosting an event.

Miss the old Portsmouth location, but Blue Mermaid still has some of the most unique dishes in the area. The restaurant seemed empty for a Saturday and not as comforting as the old location. However, the service was great - our waiter made us feel right at home.Our favorite dish, the paella, no longer exists. The lobster quesadilla is the last man standing and still hits the spot! Try it as an appetizer as the portion is quite large. The exotic-themed menu has mouth-tingling spices throughout most of its dishes. Their homemade fire-roasted salsa and jalapeno pesto sauces were excellent; and highlighted their respective dishes. I will say that the stars of the show are their cocktail menu and desserts. Be sure to try their Key Lime Pie - it's awesome.

Enjoyed a lovely birthday evening at the Blue Mermaid last Thursday. Beautiful and classy decor, enjoyed the soft background piano music. The food was delicious although the oysters Rockefeller were prepared differently than I have had in our hometown province of Nova Scotia. The lamb and shrimp dinner and the King Crab dinner were superb! We also requested a taste of Pickerel, which was the special of the evening. Our waiter brought us a full filet and I have to say, the Pickerel was the star of the evening! Delicious! Thank you for making my birthday dinner so memorable!
