Chauncey Creek is always excellent. Now that I live outside the US, I make sure to schedule my visits during the open season. The food (steamers and lobsters) was perfectly prepared and delicious. Even the sides (coleslaw, corn on the cob and onion rings) were amazing. The setting on Chauncey Creek, with a view toward Portsmouth Harbor really adds to to the ambience. And the stars are all super welcoming, efficient and friendly. This is our go-to destination for exceptional seafood in a classic, rustic setting.

Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier is hands down one of the best lobster spots I’ve ever been to!Some people have mentioned that it can be a bit pricey, but let’s not forget—it’s BYOB!

Tourist trap. Lobster roll ($30) is served on a tasteless hamburger bun, not buttered or toasted, plain. Add a few chips and a pickle slice! Welcome to Maine. Go someplace that cares. Made us want to leave the state.

My first lobster in the States - and it would remain the best so far. Absolutely fresh and the ambience is unsurpassable. Unfortunately, I just caught the last day of the season, which meant I didn't have the pleasure again during my stay. Otherwise I would have liked to come again.

Very good lobster rolls. Nice quality lobsters. Not the biggest amount served. Probably would have done a whole lobster instead.
The chowder is excellent.
Fantastic oysters on a half shell.
Good french fries.
Ambiance is fantastic... You sit outside on a dock on an inlet. Picturesque and lovely.
Very friendly staff.
Highly recommend on your way up to Portland if coming from down south.

Bring your own wine, beer drinks etc and enjoy the local caught Lobster in a picnic setting on the pier. I really enjoyed the lobster role as didn’t have time for the whole lobster, I will next time ??.

Parking: Off the street parking in small lots, otherwise roadside.

Kid-friendliness: Hi chairs available. Seating is picnic table, which is ok for kids.

Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps are steep, (not ADA 'gentle').
If you get help backing down, wide ramps are do able.

I’ve queued at a few of the top rated lobster-shacks on a Maine road trip, and this one was the absolute best.

Staff were friendly and cheerful, beautiful setting, immaculately clean, with amazing fresh lobster ( reportedly ) with nary a hint of any fishy smell at the venue. I had the “landlubber” hotdogs and key lime pie, which were both good .. elevated to great by all the other positives.

This was an incredible find. An authentic experience for lobster and the clam chowder was the best we’ve had so far on our vacation
