I was driving and saw this spot. I decided to try it out because I was hungry. The spot says it serves Puerto Rican food but I did not see some of the most common Puerto Rican food items on their menu and there wasn't even Puerto Rican flag anywhere in this place. There was no arroz con gandules, no bistec, no pollo guisao, no vianda, no bacalao, none of the traditional foods. Puerto Ricans are very proudful and will display it. I got the Chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. It took a very long time to get my food as I sat down for over 20 minutes with bees around for my food. When I got my food in the paper brown bag it looked good. But my chicken sandwich was way too spicy ( I like spicy but something was wrong with this) and fell apart everywhere. It was messy and I couldn't finish it. I got very thirsty from it. The potato fries were good which is why I gave food 2 stars. But it wasn't the best I ever had and they need to replace their oil. My sandwich's contents had fallen on them because they were altogether. I wasn't told sorry for the long wait or how long it would take to get my food. I did not feel the hospitality and warmth that I always get when I eat at Puerto Rican restaurants, food trucks and or places. I would not recommend this place and will not be coming back.

We had the Tuna/yellow rice/black beans with garlic cream, pork, yellow rice, black beans with the bbq and a side of sweet fries. Everything was delicious, the pork broke apart with just a plastic spork. Rice was well cooked and seasoned. Sheet fries were a great sharing size and delicious, not too heavy and well salted. We look forward to coming back.

Food is TASTY and PRICED reasonably! I ordered the Chicken Bowl with Yellow Rice and Black Beans. It was delicious! The chicken was moist and broke apart easy, the garlic crema sauce was perfect, and all the other ingredients made the dish come together! Service was quick and easy, had no issues there. The gentleman running the register was friendly and to-the-point, which I look for in restaurant biz. Atmosphere was slightly small, but great for outdoor eating or takeout! You will pull up to La Casita knowing it'll be good food just by looking at it! Compliments to the chef! ⭐️🇵🇷

So glad we changed our mind at the last second and didn’t go to a tired old American pizza and sandwich joint. The vegan food at La Casita is so tasty, filling and reasonably priced. The owner was super friendly and knowledgeable about his vegan options. Went with the Tofu bowl with yellow rice, red and black beans, and guava BBQ sauce, topped with Puerto Rican slaw, with a side of deliciously spiced papas bravas. Will definitely revisit in the future.

I have ordered from here many times. The prices have gone up several times, and the quality has declined. The pork today was charred fat, and small at that. Really mind blowing that someone sent it out the door.

Fabulous food! We had two vegan bowls with tofu, yellow rice, mixed beans, guava BBQ sauce and a cabbage slaw on top. Unbelievably delicious. Sweet potato fries on the side yum! We sat at a picnic table outside and watched the world go by. Right on the Kittery traffic circle with lots of free parking. They even had a treat for my dog. This was our first visit but it won’t be our last!
Vegetarian options: Tofu available for bowls. Perfectly prepared. So delicious.
