We stopped to have dinner tonight, I ordered the Mariners plate and the wife ordered the the baked stuffed haddock. when my dinner arrived I asked where the rest of the meal was? I was told that the it's the same but the plate got bigger. I got 5 small scallops and 5 shrimp and a small piece of haddock and some fries. Portions are definitely smaller. I have never left the Chickadee hungry before today.

We visited the restaurant in the past and had already noticed that the quality of the past was fading, but we still returned for another chance. The restaurant was partially full and we were seated in the central room, the air conditioning was super cold, making the environment uncomfortable. The waitress seemed new, as she had no information about the preparation of the dishes. It took a long time for her to return to the table and take the orders, Sadly we were frustrated with the 3 recipes we chose. The fish sandwich was served with the fillet crumbled, which looked ugly; the tartar sauce was watery and flavorless; the rice with vegetables (vegetarian option) very oily, extremely hard garlic bread, very soft rice and tasteless vegetables; breaded seafood was extremely oily… We barely touched our plates and when the waitress asked us if we would like takeout containers and we said no thanks, she didn't even ask us if the food was ok. It was our last visit, sadly…

I have family with celiac so it's really nice to find a good seafood place with options they can eat.
I found the staff to be delightful and the old delicious.
Dietary restrictions: They go out of their way to ensure they have good gluten free options. My sister is sick of nothing but salads.

Ordered from here and ordered clam tenderloins and got whole clams, which i hate. Called to complain and was told someone would call back which never happened, not good customer service in my book
Haven’t been here in over 30 years. It did not disappoint! The lobster roll was superb. Just as I remembered it, with a touch of mayo. The lobster was the star of my meal. To top it off, they offered Maine Beer Co IPA. Highly recommend this place!

I don’t usually post reviews, but I’m so disappointed. I just have to. I’m here for work. I only live little over two hours away, from New England, so I know seafood. But I figured being here in Maine they know it better. Great reviews I got scallops and because I couldn’t decide I got the haddock bites. Bites were doused in a rubbery batter that you could barely find the fish would’ve gotten this silver and it probably would’ve been better there. Poor quality the muscles on the side of them that are supposed to be taken off. We’re still on. They seem like they had been reheated a couple times they were rubbery overcooked , I didn’t finish eating them after paying $40 and tipping 25%. Seems like the reviews can be much better than this, but they didn’t. I’d be very careful giving them too much of a chance.

We relied on the reviews - mistake. Two of our three meals were fine. The third was terrible. The vegetables came about 5 to ten minutes before the fish and the potatoes came 10 minutes after the fish. Our wait person was friendly but never came back to check on us or to refil drinks. No appologies for the way food was served - essentially poor at best.

This place is a hidden locals gem in Lewiston. I am am mid-coast gal by birth, so I was so happy to find a restaurant a bit inland that does up seafood the Maine way! Steamers excellent, milk/cream based chowder- no flour- yay, and great lobsters and prime rib. Affordable, too. Servers were sweet and atmosphere is friendly. Loved the locals hangout and family feel. I will be back!! Thank you!
We eat here often and have enjoyed every meal we have ordered. The staff is welcoming and do a great job! Good service, good food, and clean!

There is no place better than Chick-a-dee. Went twice on this summer's annual vacation. Staff was wonderful and polite. Atmosphere is inviting. Food is amazing. Never disappointed when I go.
