Not only is the food amazing, but the portions are crazy big. Definitely come with an appetite.

The young man who brought us to our table was nice and polite. The waitress was having an off day, she took our order but that was it. Our food came and we had to switch plates after she left. I guess that's not to big of a deal. Never came back during our meal to ask how things are. Only came back to give us our check and then asked how our meal was, Our burgers were on the dry side, the French fries were wonderful. It's dated and clean inside.

I live in Florida and all year I think about the pie I got from here. Arrived here in Maine yesterday and today went there to get a whole pie. Best chocolate pie and I get to enjoy it for the whole week that I'm here.

Awesome Canuck Grandpa - John Cook

This was my 3rd visit to Governor's. Both previous visits were very enjoyable. The food was delicious, the electric train traveling around the room was fun to watch and was a great conversation starter.

This visit was on a Friday evening. The food was still great. The train was doing it's thing, but I have never, in my life experienced such slow service. It was not the fault of the kitchen. Our waiter seemed to be stuck on autopilot in the slow motion mode. I will not say any more about this, except that I will give the waiter the benefit of the doubt that he must have been new, inexperienced, and a bit overwhelmed by the capacity crowd. We still left a decent tip.

This was my 1st visit in probably close to 20 years. And what prompted me to go there again was a recent review of the Waterville location. I then remembered the Lewiston location. Given the widespread power outage of yesterday, the 12th, I decided to stick to closer to home today. Given the really late start to my day - weather/winter preparations I landed at 11:15 and decided on the Breakfast Buffet instead of Lunch. Scrambled/?poached, bacon, sausage, biscuits, pancakes, fresh chunks of cantaloupe, pineapple, strawberries and canned whip for short cake, Oatmeal, gravy for biscuits, baked beans, breakfast pastries assortment: donuts, cheese Danish. That's what I remember. The bacon, I thought, seemed peppery, but the fresh fruit cooled that down. Food was all good; staff was busy, very pleasant, the place was hopping with customers, so I did not hang around to closely evaluate the pastry/dessert case & carousel in the lobby. Guess that means I'll be back! The constantly running model train overhead is a unique touch - will need to ask about that. Atmosphere: plenty of tables and booths well positioned so you do not bump into other diners. Parking: decent in front - did not check out back. One suggestion: add some sort of decor to the buffet area - it feels like a back room - the wall triptych in the main dining area theme could continue here? Add some windows as well?

Good homestyle food at a reasonable price. Electric train and fish in a tank to distract the kids while waiting.

We came in a whim looking for blueberry pie, they were out & staff suggested a peanut butter & jelly pie. It was delicious! So nice, and very patient with our indecisive selves
