I used to get lunch here every once in a while when I worked in the area. Their portions are hearty for like $15. Banana and water with it too. Very tasty rice and pasta.
Their sambusas are a quick, delicious and filling option. Don't miss out on their $3 smoothies if you see some in the fridge. My favorite was mango but strawberry is pretty good too.
A vibrant immigrant community is really making a go of a town that was spiraling. Everyone owes themselves a chance to taste this cuisine. Hearty and basic. A little spicy by bland American standards, but nothing that would surprise you if you eat Tex-Mex from time to time. And not at all expensive.
My kiddos and I got lunch here as a way to peak into Lewiston's Somali community on the way through. The decor is a little fancier than you'd expect for a place serving homestyle meals. The appetizers were yummy, especially the crepes, which are a little sweeter than the French version. We also got samosas, which were good but not as good as I've had in a Somali-American kitchen.
