I have to give this brewery 5 stars even just for the fact they set themselves apart. Being off the beaten path located in Limerick in the woods and going against the IPA craze that has taken over the beer industry. Don't get me wrong, but it was a refreshing change to see 14 beers with no IPA in sight with a focus on styles not always common. Unfortunately after 10+ years they have announced they are closing. No exact date so if you are looking to go, check their social media on Saturdays to see if they open. The number of beers available will be dwindling as more weekends past. Staff was friendly and welcoming despite seeming overwhelmed by the crowds of people looking to get their last tastes of their beers. If you can, make sure to stop in before they close for good and enjoy a beer on their patio and enjoy the sights of nature. Quite disappointed I will not get to enjoy their great patio in late summer/early fall.

Wow! What a hidden gem. Great beer, great vibes. The outdoor space is beautiful, the beer was great, the brewer/server was kind and knowledgeable.

What a great place to be. Beautiful view and great setup in their backyard. Owner and cat cannot be any friendlier the brewery is not to be missed. Visit here every year.

Amazing beer, friendly staff and an awesome location in the woods of Limerick! It’s hard to find such good lagers and German-inspired beers elsewhere. The Nord Pilsner, Oktoberfest and Maibock are my favorites. The outdoor space is especially nice for hanging out with lots of seating and space, cornhole and other outdoor games.

Lovely secluded spot with yummy beer and a nice woodsy setting. Loved the flights and the snackies.

This place is a hidden gem! Extremely friendly folks and extra refreshing beer. A brewery cat adds to the fun!

I really love beer and I especially love visiting all of the fledgling beer companies in the area plus. I've been going to Gneiss since the place was a garage door and a single picnic table. Let me tell you their beer is great. Since then they've expanded at 2 times that I remember? Now they have a beautiful backyard venue with corn hole pits, fire pits, comfortable chairs, etc. I love the place and it's truly a scene out of the back woods of Maine lol. They have an excellent rotation of food trucks there. And I look forward to doing more business with them in the future.

My first time here. I tried the flite so I could sample what was being made. I found the beer pretty decent. There is a wide variety to choose from. From lagers, sours, and IPAs. Take note there is no food here. Unless you want popcorn. Bring your own food, like a pizza. That's not a problem. The server worked the bar was friendly and knowledgeable. Only one little issue. Finding the entrance. It's in the back. Finding the server. Also in the back. Nothing is marked. So you may be wandering initially. But once you have that figured out it's a nice place to get a beer.

While visiting with my boyfriend, we each did a flight sampling and loved every beer. We decided to do a third flight to taste all 15 beers they had to offer! Every beer has a distinct flavor, style and they are all winners. You cannot go wrong with this brewery! The landscaping was beautiful, including fire pits, picnic benches, Adirondack chairs, corn hole, and igloos to keep the bugs away. My dog was happily chilling with us in our igloo, and the staff brought a bowl of water put for him and gave doggy biscuits. This place is a GEM!!!!

Gneiss is a nice (har har) brewery located in what feels like the middle of nowhere. Lots of parking and outdoor seating with lovely views of nature. Masks are required as the staff have medical conditions. There is very limited seating inside so you'll likely want to take your beverages outside. They also ask only one party be in the bar area at a time but no one seemed to be abiding or enforcing that rule. The menu is pretty extensive and they have a good variety of sours, lagers, IPAs and stouts. My husband got a full pour and I got a flight of all the sours. We sat outside with our pup and when we asked if we could pull into the back parking lot, we were told no, despite us being the only customers and the lot was empty. I wouldn't rush back but it's a nice place to visit if you've never been and want to sit outside. The whole place, parking lot to where you order to where you can drink is very much not handicap accessible. Lots of stairs, crushed rock and a dirt parking lot so people who struggle to get around would likely find the layout to not be accommodating.

Eh, went this weekend and understand it is their business and they can call the shots but don't need to be lectured about society and why I should wear a mask. Stick to beer.
