A very small place hidden on Water Street yet is has very good coffee and other beverages, baked goods and well-made sandwiches. I stopped there on my way to Reversing Falls and ordered a cappuccino and a breakfast sandwich. Both we very good. It was almost empty when I got there but it soon began to fill up. It's a bit tight inside so I'm certain they do significant take out. It was a good introduction to Lubec with a pleasant view of the Narrows and Cambobello Island, which is almost a stones throw away!

Stopped in for breakfast and got a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese. I also got a hot chocolate with vanilla. These were both great. My boyfriend got a coffee and he enjoyed it. Staff was very friendly. They also have some items for sale like books, ornaments, prints, and more. We bought an ornament to bring home. Nice spot to grab a quick breakfast in town.

The avocado toast on homemade bread is out of this world! I’d also recommend grabbing whatever you fancy from the fresh pastry case, sweet or savory you can’t go wrong!

Amazing gem in Lubec. Friendly staff, charming atmosphere, and amazing coffee. They have a limited supply of amazing pastries so you’d best come before they are gone!

We were fortunate to spend a month in Lubec this summer, so returned many times to this gem of a cafe. Both the owner and staff could not have been kinder or more welcoming to visitors. The coffee, pastries and sandwiches we enjoyed all summer were first rate, without exception. The space, the decor, the quality goods offered and the location simply could not be better.
As an unexpected bonus, we were always made to feel welcome by locals, at the community table. If I came in solo while my partner worked, there was always company and conversation on offer. Andrea and her team have created a place that benefits the community and visitors alike, a rare accomplishment! Headed anywhere near Lubec? Quoddy Head light, Campobello, any of the excellent hiking the area has to offer? Make a short detour here, to Narrow Escape, and be glad.

Nice coffee shop with awesome pastries! Would recommend heating milk for coffee and lattes since final product is only lukewarm and disappointing when expecting a “hot” drink.

Visited Narrow Escape today for the first time. Wonderful coffee, great service, welcoming atmosphere. I went in there alone, I was the first person in the door and was the first to choose a table. The next person who came in sat with me. The third person who came in also sat with us. In any other setting people would spread out as much as possible. It was a lovely way to spend the morning. Highly recommend this adorable shop.

Coffee was terrific. Bakery items very good. Service was very good. Atmosphere was literally poisoned by a group of 4 elderly locals (3 men and 1 lady)sitting around in a group talking politics very loudly, boisterously and ugly about people voting behaviors. Brainwash on full display.
