“Best take out we have had in a long time. The Haddock was mine and my wife's favorite. We ate there multiple times and loved every bite. We go to Lubec every year and Small Town Takeout is the place for fresh food.”
“It’s like no other community based brewery I’ve ever visited. It was also, in part, a “pro” in of my pros and cons consideration /decision to buy property in Lubec. My son and I walked in on a sunny day in September to a packed but very relaxed setting filled with amazing human beings and a few playful dogs.”
“The lady who owns this shop is a gem! what a wonderful lady. Had many cups of coffee and a few sandwiches. Being a full-time traveler by road she allowed me to ship some stuff to her shop. Can be very difficult getting stuff delivered when you're on the road year round but she didn't hesitate when asked if I could get stuff delivered. I see myself again coming to this town and visiting her and her shop in the future!”
“The staff are the best.. bartenders and cooks are definitely the best in our area ? everything is always so great and the entertainment is definitely worth staying for ?? family friendly and fun for the adults, after hours!”
“We made a day trip to this far eastern part of the US as part of our vacation to Maine this past October. I had looked online and found a few places for us to eat lunch before heading on to the West Quoddy Lighthouse and so we arrived in Lubec right at noon. We quickly found out that this late in the season most places in Lubec were only open for dinner, including the one we'd found online. A quick perusal of Google maps found Fisherman's Wharf marked as "open for lunch", so we left our car parked where it was and walked through this charming little town to the restaurant. We were quickly seated inside by a window. Our server was friendly and polite and efficient. It looked like they were preparing for a group while we were there, but it didn't seem to affect our service. We both wanted lobster rolls and we were told that there wasn't any lobster ready yet for the day. Apparently we arrived early enough that they hadn't cooked and picked any lobsters yet. That also took out the lobster lobster stew and the lobster salad. So we wound up with: * Clam chowder and a house salad for me. The chowder was rich, thick and full of clams. The salad was HUGE with gorgonzola, dried cranberries, and fresh made croutons. The blueberry balsamic was a touch sweet for me and I should have asked for it on the side. But it was worth trying. * Fried clam platter with onion rings and french fries for my partner. He said that they were quite good, nicely fried, and the onion rings were delicious. He said the fries were a little soggy, and he should have ordered all rings. We both had Lubec Brewery beers to drink and they were good and paired well with the food. We really enjoyed this lucky find and only wish that there had been lobster available for our lunch.”
“We love the wine bar ! The owner is friendly and the atmosphere is breathtaking They have a great selection of fine wines and imported beers. They also have cheese boards and a variety of appetizers”
“First experience at Horn Run was this past Saturday celebrating my birthday. The food and drinks were great but the service was above and beyond!! If you haven’t tried it, you need too! Thanks for making my birthday great!! We’ll definitely be back!!”
“This place is the Downeast version of Cheers except better. Laid back, welcoming, good conversation, amazing food. Don’t expect to leave without striking up some conversations with complete strangers and perhaps making some new friends and you’ll be sorry if you skip dessert!”
“The potatoe leek soup was delicious!! The pastery on the feta, spinach and sundried tomato crossaint was excellent. There was only a dab of spinach on it, more would have made this a five star review. The coffee is high quality and the prices are good. Go there! You'll be glad you did.”
“Excellent service and great food! It was the first time I have ever had a fish cake. It was very good. I look forward to returning here for breakfast the next time we are on Campobello Island.”
“Went there with not much choice and expectations because it was one of the two, three places that were open during this off season but their food was great. Loved their seafood chowder!”
“We absolutely fell in love with the fresh baked goods, drinks, and incredible people at Narrow Escape. Such a sweet little coffee shop full of charm and personality. Narrow Escape is the true treasure of Lubec.”
