Enjoyed the visit. Great food and store.
Food and servers were great. The manager not so much, found her to be very rude!! Not just once, but twice.
We went around 5 pm on a Thursday so the gift shop was closed. (They missed out on some sales there). No wait with plenty of seating. My wife had chicken tacos. They were done well and were filling enough for her. Nothing else comes with the tacos. I had the Ruben sandwich. Nothing special, but the meat was tender and tasted like a regular Ruben. It only comes with chips, so we added fries. Good fries! You also pay for the water there. With 20% tip, the meal came to just under $54. If I knew the gift shop was closed, we would have eaten at another place in town. But we do like the show!
Great place with casual food and brilliant beer!
Loved the fact they have my favorite beverage......food sucks. I haven't been here in almost a year for same reason. Came here all the time when first opened. They had the best ruben and great service. Now, both are lacking. Ruben is dry, fatty, and I had to ask them to add thousand island. This place has absolutely gone downhill. Come for drinks and music, nothing else.
We had been here before and loved the food, beer choices, atmosphere. But this time we were very disappointed by the food and service. We ordered a roast beef sandwich and fries with beer cheese to share, a beer and an iced tea. Thank goodness we got those handed right to us. We waited a good amount of time before eventually flagging down an attendant to ask about our food order. Within 5 minutes we got the sandwich. Ice cold and full of fatty gristle, where every bite has you fighting to keep the meat in the bun. Horrible. Another 5+ minutes and I had to go up to the counter to ask where the fries were. They came pretty quickly, and were pretty good but maybe just a tad undercooked (they sure hurried them out}. The grease was hot and clean so given a few more minutes the fries would have been outstanding. The beer cheese was excellent but could have been a slightly larger portion given the size of the fries. Great beer choices. The setting is relaxed, picnic/beer garden, roomy, shade available. Interesting selection of local beers, but not so many that you're overwhelmed by choices.
We visited The Woodshed for the free live music and had a great time! It’s a welcoming venue with plenty of space to sit, whether at tables or out on the grass. The atmosphere was relaxed and perfect for enjoying music outdoors.
There was ample parking when we arrived, though we could see it getting tight during busier events.
Overall, a great spot to unwind, listen to live music, and enjoy a casual evening out. We’d definitely come back!
Terrible service. My husband got his meal twenty minutes before I got mine. A beer pretzel, cold wings and two beers for $50. Waitress was so rude when I asked for silverware. Nobody checked on us. Won’t be back.
T’was a drizzly Saturday when we made our trek to gaze upon the glory of the Maine Cabin Masters’ abode to feast among fellow connoisseurs of the tv show and of fine pub food. When you go on vacation, you only get so many days to taste the local cuisine so you want to make the most of it. This was a complete waste of one of those precious few dining opportunities. We came upon the ransacked looking shack and were aghast at the state of the structure. Could people capable of building such magnificent structures, stalwart in magnitude, cook out of such a lowly looking establishment? Crude construction is definitely an understatement and the chairs kept getting stuck in the ruts that weren’t already filled in with food residue. The folks there seemed to be less than pleasant and claimed to be related to the guys in the show, though I’m sure the cabin masters would be embarrassed if they knew how their family was and what was going on here whilst they’re out in the frontier erecting fine dwellings and taming the wilderness.
We got the burger, nachos, and chicken sandwich and the only positive thing I can say is the nachos were a generous portion though flavor was very average at best. The burger left much to be desired and I could do just as good on a George Forman. The chicken sandwich was on par with Tyson’s Dino nugget quality and it cost an arm and a leg for all of it! Needless to say, next time we make the extensive trek towards the region of Maine in which this restaurant dwells, we shall carry on in search for finer dining.
I came to this venue with family hoping for a fun, memorable experience. However, we came away highly disappointed in the staff, the food, and the venue itself. First of all, this was a pretty ruddy looking cabin for a “Maine Cabin Masters” establishment. Love the show, but this place made me highly question their craftsmanship. On a more important note, we had some bad experience with the food quality and the seating. It was a very busy, rainy Saturday when we arrived, and indoor seating was very dicey. When I went in to find seating for a party of eight, there were four individuals seated at the only large table inside the establishment, and they were unwilling to switch seats for a smaller table so that my larger family could have room. Understandable. With 8 adults, including 2 grandparents with mobility issues, this was going to be uncomfortable. So I packed 4 extra seats on to a 4 seater table to make as much room as I could. We waited 20 minutes for our food at our very cramped table, and the food was the worst that I’ve ever had while traveling to Maine. I am confident that I could have cooked a better meal in a dorm room microwave. When the four people at the large table were heading out, they chatted with us and explained that they were related to the owners. They also stated that our very obviously cramped table was actually “better off” for us because we could see more wall hangings from where we were seated. What? This made me even more deeply disappointed in the establishment. The owners’ family hogged the largest indoor table at a crowded restaurant on a rainy Saturday, and they refused to switch tables to make room for a party of 8 guests, even when kindly asked. That’s extremely sad. Never going back.

We’ve been watching Maine Cabin Masters for years- so when they opened The Woodshed- I’ve been wanting to drive from Freeport to check it out!
Today was my birthday so Tom & I decided to go for a birthday lunch.
Seeing that a Mug Club pig roast was starting at 1pm - we decided to be there at noon to avoid the crowd.
Our server immediately told us that we might lose our seats if mug club members arrived before we could finish our lunch. She pretty much made us feel like an inconvenience right away! She was the opposite of friendly & didn’t smile the entire time. She took our orders with an obvious bristling expression and attitude. When I asked for coffee- she said that they didn’t have any. Hot chocolate? No. Hot tea? No.
When I told her that it was my birthday and ordered a slice of chocolate cake- she couldn’t hide her impatience that she just wanted us to be finished and free up 2 bar stools!
Fortunately the chili and quesadillas were excellent. And Tom was able to enjoy a couple of good beers.
I really hate to give bad reviews. Both of us agreed that it would have been closer to a 4 point review if only our server would have been friendlier. She was a 1 out of 5…..

There’s nothing like a rude person to put you off. The girl who handled my takeout order was unfriendly as hell. As another reviewer mentioned, she didn’t make eye contact, and she was snappy. Just plain off-putting. If that’s her goal, she achieved it. I won’t be back.
It's amazing. Everything they have is delicious and they have Gluten free!

We just went to The Woodshed today for the first time and we were SO excited to go. We paid almost $100.00 for lunch for 3 people ($98 and some change); it’s expensive. ….AND I was unpleasantly disappointed. One of us ordered the 2 red snappers and they came to our table COLD. The pizza was ok, the fries were good; however, not worth the price. EXTREMELY disappointed that we spent SO much money on lunch and I could’ve just saved my hard earned money and cooked my hot dogs at home. Too bad, because we really like the show! We won’t be back.
