Can I give it 10 stars? 🌟 The staff went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. They obviously know the regulars as I saw them bring a muffin out to a table before the person had even sat down, then went above and beyond by offering to help them out to the car when they noticed one member of their usual party was not there And the FOOD… I could not stop myself from dancing with joy as I ate the homemade bread. They managed my special order with zero issues and my husband had to stop himself from licking the plate clean. We are so glad that we tried Cafe 1055 while in the area. We will be going out of our way to return!!!

First impressions are everything! I will never attempt to return here - it was about 20 plus minutes past closing time which wasn’t obvious because the open flag was out, vehicles in the parking lot, and the door unlocked, I opened the door and was shouted at “CLOSED” from who I’m assuming was the owner behind the counter - I just stood there… I think a woman also behind the counter was about to say something, but the owner abruptly said again, “we closed at 2”… I just walked out the door… SO RUDE - the woman did come out as I got in my vehicle to remove the open flag and I could tell she mouthed that she was sorry… I just drove off… I feel sorry for her… as a New Gloucester native, I will not support this business, or behavior!

Went here twice with my dad and his wife for breakfast. The place is so nice with the friendly atmosphere. Got the blueberry pancakes with bacon and a cup of the Jamaican coffee. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

We stopped here on a road trip unexpectedly on our way to Northern Maine. We were just looking for a cup of coffee, but we were a little bit hungry and they told us sit down and have a seat. To our surprise, the food was amazing. Super fresh, tasty and great service!

We had the pancakes and bacon, (phenomenal pancakes ) and a turkey wrap. The turkey wrap was super fresh ….. for something so simple it tasted delicious. The next time we travel through, we will definitely be back.

Very pleasant setting. Prompt and friendly service. The 2 eggs, toast and home fries breakfast is a good value at 8 dollars as of July 2025. The bread is home made and ridiculously good, so airy and delicious. Will come again to try some baked goods or a bagel.

It was our first time visiting but wont be the last. We arrived around 1:30 for lunch and all but 2 tables were filled with happy customers. The menu wasn't huge but had a great variety. The service was fine and the food was very good. I had a three cheese + bacon + tomato grilled sandwich and my wife had a Greek salad with tuna, which was quite large. The breakfast menu looked great and the pastries we saw in the case on the way out looked super.

A nice place to stay and eat or grab some delicious pastries to go. Our weekend morning wait for a table was reasonable and the friendly staff encouraged us to help ourselves to coffee during our wait. The homemade corned beef hash was amazing!
