Mike and his staff are very nice people. When it comes to Apple's Mike knows his stuff!
The place was very nice and cosy, the staff were lovely and the donuts and apple cider is out of this world. Plus they have the cutest handmade gift section. THE BEST EXPERIENCE
Fun and enjoyable experience. Lots of great goodies. Great customer service.
Visited the first time a few weeks ago. Had no idea how the apple picking works so went inside to ask. I think they’re missing signs on where to go, how much the apples are aso. I wish we would have been told that you can get a pole to get the apples from the top. Also the signs for the apples were a bit confusing. What bothered me the most though was that I didn’t check my receipt while still there. As I had no idea how much the apples are I wasn’t sure what to expect. I did also buy other things and have been charged almost double the price for maple syrup than it was written on the product.
Therefore check your receipts while still there if you don’t want to pay extra!
Their homemade donuts and cider are amazing!
So fun apple picking and the cider donuts are heavenly.
The bakery is the highlight here. Outstanding goods. Eating apple variety is limited while there are no traditional cooking apples. Signature in the orchard is poor and not current with available apple varieties. Plus apple price on the high side. Worth the visit for the bakery but not worth going out of your way for the orchard.

Only reason this isn’t 5 stars is because 1. There need to be better signage for everything (apples to pick, where to go, etc) 2. There needs to be a place to checkout for just apples and another for the donuts + other goods inside. The line is too long and people often have to shift around and wrangle their kids to avoid getting run over in the parking lot. This has been a problem for years and Thompsons doesn’t seem to want to do anything.
With that said, overall it is a good deal for what you pay here. Not overly expensive but has a lot of what you’re looking for at an orchard. Donuts are great, good selection of baked goods, live music, outdoor seating.
Best apple orchard EVER!!!!! Friendliest staff, very personable. It is pretty early in the season so lots of fresh yummy apples :)! And the apple cider donuts!?!? Are you kidding???? Best donuts of my life. Pick your apples here! You won’t regret it!

A clean, well cared for orchard. The apples are delicious. Cute pumpkin patch with pre-picked pumpkins. The store has yummy baked goods (turnovers, cream horns, etc), they offer baked pies and whoopie pies sometimes, have apple cider in various sizes available for purchase, and the BEST apple cider donuts around. Parking is easy with the extra grass lot out front. There was live music by the picnic tables under the tent. They also keep their Facebook page updated regularly which is so nice for events and planning. It's a family favorite for sure!
Thompson's Orchard was a great experience!
I'm writing this on behalf of the group at Creative Trails that came here today for a community outing. The Orchard is located on a beautiful piece of land and has a multitude of great trees for apple picking. The staff there is very welcoming and supportive; The owners son Eli was particularly generous with helping our group get accustomed to the orchard and the picking/paying processes.
The community over at Creative Trails highly recommends coming here if you're interested in apple picking or just a nice fall place to visit in general!
Orchard was well groomed for picking and the trees were chock full of apples!
I come to maine around october from Florida and I always go to Thompson's. What a great TREAT!!! Everything is wonderful!! Thank you Mike and your great Staff. Great cider and donuts.
This place is our favorite apple orchard. We’re lucky enough to live close by, and we’ve been coming since we were kids. They truly do have the best apple cider I’ve ever tried, as well as homemade bread and donuts daily that are unbeatable. The staff is always friendly, the owner is always there checking in on customers and working hard to make sure they’re happy, and they’ve even started to incorporate other events like family movies, live music, and sunrise yoga. This place is sure to be a good experience for you and your family
